Deputy Myren taught us about drugs and alcohol abuse. We learned so many important things that some kids don't even have the opportunity to learn. It's great, Deputy Myren, for teaching us what's right and what's wrong and we all know DARE is the right thing and drugs are the wrong thing. Forest service golf tourney slated The U S. Forest Service "Iron ’ olvgon" golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 beginning at 9 a.m. at the A’illow Creek Country Club, ^alph Walker is chairman of :he event. Retired USFS employees and their spouses along with plavers from northeast Oregon , forests will golf for the cham pionship won last year by the Malheur National Forest. Cost is $10 per person, which in cludes green fees for non-members. Sandwiches will be provided by People for the Pool. No transport was made. April 18: Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a vehicle blocking the road way on Kunze Road in Board- man. Vehicle was moved; Morrow County deputy ar rested LeRoy Keith Rea, 36, lone, for Violation of a Restraining Order. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Sheriff's jail; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of criminal mischief. Investigation is continuing; Morrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for a report of trespassers; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of horses found; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a lock out. Deputy disregarded call as the person had found a spare key; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of an assault victim. April 19: Morrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for a report of garbage being dumped; Morrow County deputy ar rested Miguel Angel Aguilera- Chavez, 20, of Boardman for criminal Mischief II. He was releaded to appear in District Court; Morrow County deputy responded to the lone area for a report of Theft of Wood. Amount of value was un known; Morrow County deputy responded to the Heppner area for a report of an antelope caught in a fence. Deputy was unable to locate antelope; Morrow County deputy assisted a citizen on 1-84, mile post 167 west bound. Deputy helped in changing a flat tire; MOrrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for a disturbance; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Condon ambulance to a residence on Potter street for three people with an illness. Patients were transported to Mid Columiba Medical Center in The Dalles. April 20: Morrow County deputy responded to the Ir rigon area for a disturbance; Morrow County deputy responded to NE 9th in Irrigon for a report of Criminal Mischief; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the lone Fire Dept, to an apartment for a report of an over heated stove. April 21: Morrow County deputy arrested Jimmy Lee Howell, 34, Umatilla, on a Mor row County warrant for Negotiating a Bad Check. Sub ject was lodged at Umatilla County Jail; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman ambulance to the Outback Apartments for a female with an illness. She was transported to Good Shepherd Communi ty Hospital in Hermiston; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched a deputy to lone for a juvenile problem; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched a deputy to the Irrigon area for a report of a reckless driver; Morrow County deputy made contact with a citizen regarding threatening phone calls; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched a deputy for a domestic in the Boardman area. Deputy was unable to locate anything; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched a deputy to the Irrigon area or a report of a bon fire near residences. April 23: Morrow County deputy arrested Richard Allen Legore, 21, Hermiston, on a Prineville Police Department warrant for Unlawful Burning. Subject posted bail and was released with a court date to appear; Morrow County deputy began an investigation of burglary at a residence in Boardman. Investigation is continuing; Morrow County deputy assisted the Oregon State Police with an animal com plaint by the Army Depot; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Fossil EMT's to the Haven House for a female. No transport was made; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a disturbance; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a neighborhood disturbance; Morrow County deputy assisted a citizen with a ride from 1-84 to Boardman. April 24: Morrow County deputy responded to in vestigate a report of property found behind a business in Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Heppner ambulance to Gale St. One 75 year old male was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with an illness; Morrow County deputy responded to the lone area for a family disturbance; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of a hit and run that occurred earlier at the Fish Hatchery; Morrow County deputy dispatched the Fossil am bulance to a residence in Fossil for one female with an illness. Ambulance was cancelled en route; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept to a trailer fire near the Engineers Training Center; Morrow County deputy responded to the Hermiston Gun Club located near the Depot, for a break-in. on April 13, 1995 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Boyle was born to Kin- nie and Geraldine Wilson Had dock on May 20, 1933 at Ander son, Missouri. The family mov ed to Pueblo, Colorado while she was still a young child. She attended school there and graduated from Central High School in 1951. After com pleting two years of junior col lege in PUeblo she went to Western State College in Gun nison, Colorado, where she majored in education. She graduated in 1955 with a B.A. degree. On August 5, 1955, she mar ried Frederick H. Boyle. In the early years of their marriage they lived in South Dakota, M assachussetts, Alsaka, Florida and North Carolina. She taught first through third grades during these years and spent time as a homemaker raising her young family. The family moved to Bend in 1967 when he accepted the position as president of Central Oregon Community College. She was an active member of many women's groups in cluding AAUW and PEO. She taught in the Bend School District as a substitute for several years and had a life long devotion to the education of young children. She was an avid reader and enjoyed many different hobbies. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters Kathleen Lowe of Heppner and Megan Boyle of LaGrande; a son Keenan (Tim) Boyle of Portland; her mother , Geraldine Haddock of Bend; and three grandchildren Travis, Trenton and Caitlin of H epp-. ner. She was preceded in death by a son Kevin in 1967 and her father in 1984. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Fred and Ret ta Boyle Scholarship Fund, in care of the Central Oregon Community College Founda tion. O bituaries Ted Cress Funeral service for Ted Cress was held Thursday, April 20 at the Spray Assembly of God Church. Concluding service and burial was at the Richmond OR cemetery. Mr. Cress, 83, Spray, died Sunday, April 16, 1995 at his home. He was born June 13, 1911 at Richmond to Andrew and laura Vaught Cress. He grew up in the Spray area and attended Spray schools graduating from Spray High School. From 1943 until 1945 he serv ed with the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his discharge he returned to Spray where he worked at the lumber mill and also as Spray school custodian. On Oct. 1, 1973, he married Lula Kurt Bowler at Win- nemucca, Nev. Mrs. Cress died in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include daughters Barbara Gienger and Beverly Moore, both of Walla Walla, WA. and Brenda Heifer of Kinleyville, CA.; brothers Edgar of Heppner and Clarence of Spray; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Larry Gene Patterson Funeral services for Larry Gene Patterson were held April 19 at the Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland. Burial was at Lin coln Memorial Park. Mr. Patterson, 49, Heppner, died April 14, 1995 in Heppner. He was born March 18, 1946 in N eosho, M issouri and graduated from Franklin High School in Portland. He owned and operated his own long haul trucking com pany.
