Members of the First Christian Church served. Laura Searle won the meal ticket. The Nutrition Site Com mittee met following the meal. Blood pressures were taken before dinner. The menu for the birthday dinner March 29 will be meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans, rolls and baked apple. Members from the Christian Life Center will serve. The Senior's St. Patrick celebration projects, the breakfast, lunch and pie sale and the quilt raffle, all went well. Larry Mollahan won the quilt. All the senior volunteers have earned a much needed rest. Oregon State Police officer Tim Cundell has kindly offered to sing for the seniors, tentatively April 8, at 6 p.m. in the senior Center dining room. The meeting will be devoted to planning meeting agendas for the spring quarter. Topics to be considered for future discus sion include economic develop gistration, water stops and check points. Edmundson says that the Heppner area will be desig nated a seasonal Volkswalk event between the end of May and the end of October. This route will begin at Central Market. He says that next year the route will be designated a year-round event. Gail Hughes was assistant chairman of this year's event. John Edmundson, local Volkswalk chairman, reported that 115 walkers participated in the two-day 10K Volkswalk held in Heppner over St. Patrick's weekend. Edmundson said that around two thirds of the participants were Volkswalk club members, coming from as far away as Portland, Albany and Spokane, with the other third comprised of local walkers.
