TWO - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, February 22, 1995 'Information Superhighway' to form The 12 people who attended a meeting January 10 express ed a strong wish to see inex pensive local access for Morrow County to what has come to be called the "In form ation Superhighway". Since then Wendell Buck, director of the Oregon Trail Library District, attended a state-wide meeting to explore the possibilities. He also talked with a represen tative of a group in the Tri- Cities called the Tri-Cities Free Net, which is interested in ap plying for grants to provide In ternet access for eastern W ashington, northeastern Oregon and part of Idaho. Bruce McComb, executive director of the Tri-Cities Free net, will be in Heppner Tues day, March 7 to make a presen tation of his organizations plan. Buck will also present a brief report of the meeting he attend ed. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at the library in Heppner. The meeting is open to the public and anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend. The game was fairly even un til the fourth quarter when Heppner went on a 21-15 scor ing spree to put the contest out of reach for the Rockets. Trent Hughes of the Mus tangs led all scorers with 21 points, followed by Brent Wright who nailed 16. Byron Ellis and Chris Hum phreys had 10 points each to lead the Rockets. Others to score for the Mustangs were: Eric Schon- bachler with eight, Justin Mat- teson, six, Chris Dickenson, four, and Dan Burnside with two points. Heppner's final game of the 1994-95 season was not a memorable one, as the Sher man County Huskies dusted the Mustangs 69-34 on the Huskies' home court Saturday, Feb. 18. Sherman's superior height proved to be the difference, as the Huskies dominated the in side game, swatting shots, grabbing rebounds and placing short jumpers over the Hepp ner players. Trent Hughes, the Mustangs' leading scorer all season, managed only seven points in the contest, while Sherman placed three players in double figures. Other scoring for the Mustangs were: Chris Dicken son, six, Eric Schonbachler, Jim Schlaich and Ethan Burnside with four points; Brent Wright with three, Chris Sykes and Shawn Hisler, two, and Justin Matteson and Ben Ewing with one point each.
