E IG H T - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, May 25, 1994 FORM NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING LU Lady Cards dominate district track meet and the 200, 24.91. Parm was fifth in the shot at 35 ’l l ” and the 1500 in 4:53.18. Joe Bacon was sixth in the high jump at 5’6” and the 300 hurdles in 48.05. John Doherty placed sixth in the 400 in 56.85 and the 800 in 2:32.22. Swanson’s sixth in the 110 hurdles in 21.9 and Andrew Anderson’s sixth in the 3000 in 13:24.32 rounded out the scoring. The girls team won nine of the 16 events and scored heavily in most to run away with the team title. Melissa McElligott won the triple jump in 34’5'A” , the 100 in 12.85, and the 200 in 26.92. She also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet. April Taylor won the javelin with a throw of 105’ and the 1500 in 5:17.4. She was also a member of the winning 1600 relay team along with Stephanie Jack and Jill winners announced Twelve couples played in the first Jack and Jill m ini- tournament of the year at Willow Creek Country Club. Low gross score for the field was by John and Pat Edmundson with a 31. Low net for the field was won by Earl and Peggy Fishbum. Special events winners were the Edmundsons, Fishbums and the team of Roger Schoonover and Anita Boyer. Other gross winners were: second-G ene and Luvilla Sonstegard; third-Schoonover/ Boyer; fourth-Dave and Karen Wildman; fifth-Roy and Juanita Martin; and sixth-Dave and Trish Gunderson. Net winners were second-Bob and Suzanne Jepsen; third-Jim and Cam Wishart; fourth-Jeff and Missy Cutsforth; fifth-Earl and carol Norris; sixth-Loren and Della Heideman. The next Jack and Jill Tourna ment will be Friday. June 3 at 6 p.m. P U B L IC N O T IC E Morrow County Court Notice of Hearing As authorized in ORS 451.010 and pursuant to district formation provisions of ORS 198.705 to 198.955, the citizens of Morrow County have petitioned the Mor row County Court for formation of “ Morrow County 4-H and Ex tension Service District.” The Morrow County Court hereby gives notice of a public hearing of such district formation. On the boys side, Dufur’s powerful sprint corp led them into first with 165 to 122 for second place lone. Lars Krechting and Melissa McElligott were triple winners and April Taylor was a double winner at the meet. The top two competitors in each event advance to the State 1A track meet to be held Saturday, May 21 at Western Oregon State College in Monmouth. Between the girls and boys team, lone will send a sizeable contingent of 18 athletes to the state meet. For the boys Krechting won three events taking the pole vault at 10’, the high jump at 6’5” and the javelin at 154’4 ” . He also finished sixth in the long jump with a jump of 17’7” . Luke Swanson qualified for state in the pole vault, finishing second with vault of 9 '0 ” and the 400 relay team o f Greg Holtz, Jared Ashbeck, Joe Bacon and Jake Bacon finished second to Dufur in 46.73. Also qualifying for state was Jim Logan, second in the 400 in 52.36, Jared Ashbeck. second in the 110 hurdles, Jacob Taylor second in the 800 in 2:09.69 and Rob Crum, second in the 3000 in 10:43.55. Also placing for the Cards were Crum, third in the 1500 in 4 :41.86 and the 1600 relay team consisting of Taylor, Bacon, Bacon and Will Parm, third in 3:51.44. Jared Ashbeck was third in the 200 in 24.25 and fourth in the 100 in 11.96. Jake Bacon placed fourth in the 400 meters in 54.32 and sixth in the javelin with a throw of 118’. Greg Holtz finished fifth in three events, the triple jump 37’, the 100, 12.01 Hague wood, Becky Wagenblast and Laree Anderson. They clock ed a time of 4:39.3. Taylor also took third in the 800 in 2:44.24. Wagenblast won the high jump at 4 ’4 ” and placed second in the 800 in 2:42.54. Jamie Lovett won the discus with a throw of 111’, second in the shot at 32’7” , fourth in the 100 in 15.42 and ran on the second place 400 meter relay team with Marie Tworek, Lyndee M inster and Laree Anderson. Anderson also placed fourth in the 400 and fifth in the long jump and 200 meters. Kim Bedortha was the Card’s final in dividual winner taking the 3000 in 13:14.32. Bedortha also plac ed second in the high jump at 4 ’2” and was fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 27’4'/^” . Lyndee Minster qualified for state in the 1500 placing second in 6:00.32. She was also fourth in the 800 in 2:58.88. Stephanie Haguewood was the second place qualifier in the 300 hurdles with a time of 52.65. She narrowly missed qualifying in the triple jump, placing third by % of an inch. Marie Tworek finished third in both the 1500 and 3000 and Tanja Anderson grabbed third in the shot 30’7 '/i” , fourth in the discus 95’3” and fifth in the 100, 15.74.
