Sheriff’s Report
There were 110 people present for the senior dinner Jan. 19, in
cluding six out of town visitors. Five meals were sent out. Members
of the Seventh-Day Adventist and Nazarene Churches served.
Margaret Dubuque won the door prize, Ralph Struthers, the meal
ticket and Colleen Harris, of Alaska, the guest prize. The senior center
board met following the meal. Blood pressures were taken before
the meal.
The menu for February 2 will be Spanish rice with meat, green
beans, peaches, com bread and peanut butter brownies. Members
of the Methodist church will serve. The Meal Site committee will
meet following the meal. There will be hearing aid assistance and
blood pressures taken before the meal. A foot care clinic will be held
at 1:30 p.m.
There was one table of cards in play Friday afternoon, Jan. 21.
Cards are played every Friday at 2:30 p.m. if enough people come.
Everyone is welcome.
Nine seniors watched the movie “ Five Mile Creek” volume one.
The next volume in the series will be shown Sunday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m.
Coming up very soon is the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.
Volunteers are needed for the senior breakfast at the fairgrounds and
the soup and roll luncheon and pie and coffee sale at the Senior Center.
The senior center quilt made by Quilters and Company, is on display
at the center and tickets are available at the center office. The pro
ceeds from these projects help keep the center operating. Seniors,
please volunteer some time.
Other dates to remember: Monday, Bible study, 10:30 a.m .,
quilting 1 p.m.; Tuesday & Thursday, exercise, 10 a.m.; Wednes
day, senior dinner, noon; Thursday, knitting, 7 p.m.
