Ice cream social planned at Valby The Valby Lutheran Church will have their third annual ice cream social on Sunday, August 29 at 4 p.m. Those attending will not only have a good time, but will be helping the hungry people of the world. Free will donations for the event will go to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal which helps bring food to the hungry in Africa, the wartorn former republic or Yugoslovia, and even to those in these United States. Game night at Stokes Landing Game night and dinner will be held at Stokes Landing Senior Center in Irrigon on Friday, Aug. 27. Dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m. Pinochle and scrabble games begin at 7 p.m. The dinner menu is chicken salad, tomatoes, rolls and dessert. Price of the dinner is $2.50 for adults and $1 for children. A $1 donation is expected for game night. There was no transport parents took a private vehicle; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice arrested Joseph C. Lindsey, 47, Medford, for Resisting Ar r„t ~ ♦* « rest. He was lodged at Benton County Jail; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Arlington Fire Dept three to five miles out of Arlington. There was no action taken, fire was determined to be an unreported controlled bum; Morrow County deputy ar rested Willaim Ray Turner, 32, Hermiston, on a Umatilla Police Dept, warrant for Contempt of Court. Turner was transfered. there were no local charges. August 18: Morrow County deputy responded to the report of a silence alarm at Beecher's Restaurant in lone. It was a false alarm; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to Wilson Road just east of Rippee Road to a motor vehi cle accident. One person was transported to Good Shepherd Com m unity H ospital with unknown injuries; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice arrested Flavio Enrique Lopez Llamas, 33. Boardman, on a warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Driving While Suspended; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate the report of someone illegally dum ping garbage at Eastern Oregon Farms, Boardman; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate the report of an animal problem in Boardman; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice arrested Terrill Lee Rea, 28, Boardman, on a Umatilla Coun ty Warrant for Failure To Ap pear/Possession of Controlled Substance. There were no local charges; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Spray Am bulance to a residence three miles west of Spray to a one vehicle ac cident. One person was transported to Bend with unknown injuries. August 19: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Boardman am bulance to a residence at the Columbia Villa Apartments. One person was transported with an unknown illness; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance to Cecil, on Hwy 74. Transport was cancelled. One female was transported to St. An thony Hospital in Pendleton by a private vehicle with unknown injuries; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice arrested Harry Duane Steers, 40, The Dalles, on a warrant for Wasco County for Failure To Pay Fine/Resisting Arrest. He was lodged at Benton County. There were no local charges; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Fossil Fire Dept to a transformer on J Street near the Asher Clinic which was sparking. Columbia Basin Elec tric was also contacted; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Arlington Fire Dept to a fire on 1-84, east bound, mile post 144. It was a grass fire. August 20: Morrow County deputy responded to take a report o f property stolen from a residence at the Irrigon Mobile Court. Amount of value was unknown; Morrow County deputy began an investigation of a resident in Irrigon that was being harassed; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to a Boardman rest area on 1-84. One female was transported to Good Shepherd Com m unity H ospital with unknown injuires. August 21: Morrow County deputy began an investigation of stolen property in Irrigon. The property was returned. No action was taken; Morrow County deputy in vestigated an animal problem in lone; M orrow County deputy responded to a juvenile problem in Heppner; Morrow County deputy took a report of a juvenile problem in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to take a report of a motorist that had an animal- vehicle accident in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to take a report of another motorist that had an animal-vehicle accident. August 22: Morrow County Sheriff s office dispatched the Fossil ambulance to a residence on Washington Street for a 67 year old male with an unknown illness; M orrow County deputy responded to Hwy 207, 1 Vi miles north of Lexington for a report of a motor vehicle accident. There was no one around. A tow was called; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the Gantenbein dairy for a male subject with an injury; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the 400 block of NE Boardman Ave. for a male sub ject with an unknown illness; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice responded to a residence in West Glenn addition for a report of an assault; Morrow County deputy ar rested Enrique Villicana Torres, 54, Boardman, for Attempted Assault I and Criminal Mistreat ment I. Subject was lodged; M orrow County deputy responded to West Glenn for a report of assault; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Fossil Fire Dept to a brush fire two to three miles out of town; M orrow County deputy responded to a report of menac ing and harrassment in the West Glenn addition. August 23: Morrow County deputy arrested Jesus Garcia- Harrera, 24, Boardman, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Driving While Suspended, misdemeanor. He was cited and released; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon Marina for a report of vandalism done to approxim ately 24-25 boats. Amount of value was unknown at press time; Morrow County deputy took a report of a break-in from Grace Martin, Irrigon. Money and other items were taken. Investigations are continuing; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of people living in the tent near the river; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a juvenile problem; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the lone Fire Dept, to a grass fire on Ridge Road.
