recently completed the basic
engineer equipment mechanic
course.
During the course at Marine
Corps Engineer School, Marine
Corps Base, Camp Lejeune,
NC, students studied the in­
spection, maintenance and
repair of engineering and earth
moving equipment used by the
Marine Corps. He also receiv­
ed instruction on gasoline and
diesel engine troubleshooting,
hydraulic, clutch and brake
systems and related repair shop
safety measures.
Zahm is the son of Helen
Bliss, Irrigon. He joined the
Marine Crops in March, 1992.
Navy Seaman Recruit Laura
L. Wanner, daughter of Arlene
Pritchard of Irrigon recently com­
pleted basic training at Recruit
Training Command, Orlando,
FL.
During the cycle, recruits are
taught general military subjects

ther academic and on-the-job
training in one of the Navy's 85
occupational fields.
Studies include seamanship,
close-order drill, naval history
and first aid.
Wanner is a 1992 graduate of
Hermiston High School.

met at leader Jannie Allen’s house
on Nov. 9. The next meeting will
be Nov. 23. Members made a
mouse on a candy cane. The can­
dy cane was the tail of the mouse.

but only got the bottom of it done.
