Historical Society seeks trail pioneers Holiday gift sale set at Sr. Center
The Oregon Trail Committee
of the Morrow County Historical
Society invites descendants of
Oregon Trail pioneer to contact
them. ‘‘It will be interesting to
see how many present county
residents are descendants of those
hardy pioneers,” said a club
spokesperson.
Send your name, the name of
the Oregon Trail participant and
a short sketch of that person’s life
and family history. Contact per
sons are Jean Nelson, Robin
Baker, Marsha Sweek and Lorine
Griffith.
Fillies named to CBC team
Three Heppner Fillies were
named to the CBC all-conference
volleyball team this past week.
First team honors went to
hitter-setter, Holly Eckman and
server-setter Jodi Johnston. Sara
Greenup made the honorable
mention team, serving strong all
season.
Cardinals beat Echo Cougars
The lone Cardinal football
team finished their season with a
big win over Echo, 63-34.
Their season ends with a 7-2
record. The Cardinals lost to

Spice and Everything Nice,’ will
be held at St. Patrick’s Senior
Center on Saturday, Nov. 14
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The sale will feature
Thanksgiving and Christmas
items, bunnies, wood-crafts,
herbs & spices, ceramics, angels
and other gift items.
Cookies and cider will be

Garden club to sell wreaths
The Heppner Garden Club met
Monday evening at St. Patrick’s
Senior Center. Janel Lacey was
the hostess.
Jane Rawlins gave a short talk
on containers for flower ar
rangements. Yearbooks were
distributed to each member
present.
A party is being planned for
Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home
residents on Nov. 17.
