Chamber Chatter
By Claudia Hughes, chamber manager
Seasons...it would be so dull
not to have them. Spring used to
be my favorite time of the year

and each sunset and crisp fall day
is to be treasured for the moment.

significance like being in the
“ autumn of my years").

The immediate shutdown of Trojan, called for in
Measures 5 and 6, would leave no time to develop
new replacement power sources...power shortages
in Oregon could result.
Studies estimate that the immediate shut
down of Trojan, as called for in Measures 5

one-half billion dollars more than the plan for
an orderly 4-year phaseout of Trojan.

Measures 5 and 6 would completely cut off all

Measures 5 and 6 would immediately force

would allow time for Trojan workers to be
retrained and find new jobs.
