m+m im àm Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, September 9, 1992 - FIVE Lutheran churches begin fall Sunday school program September is Christian Educa tion month in the congregations of Hope and Valby Lutheran Churches. The youth of Valby and their teachers will begin the 1992-93 Saturday School pro gram on September 12. The pro gram will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The theme of this year’s program of singing, Bible study and arts and crafts is “ The Greatest Adventure: Jesus Saves the World” . Valby will also hold a six hour prayer vigil from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m on Sept. 12‘. Members will take turns praying for the work of the local church as well as the synod and national church. Sunday morning the adults of the congregation will gather at 8:15 a.m. for a study of the Sunday morning scripture lessons used in worship service. Members of Hope will also hold a prayer vigil at church on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Devotional materials and suggested prayer ideas will be provided for members who Just Arrived!! The quilters are finishing a quilt and starting the new quilt for the St. Patrick’s celebration. They meet on Mondays from 1-4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join them, to help or to learn. Tuesdays and Thursdays is exercise class from.J0-10:30 a.m. The hobby group, painters, etc. hope to start getting together once a week. Times will be announced later. Brannon — Gray Kellie Jo Brannon and Terry Gene Gray, both Heppner, were mar ried July 18, 1992 at the Hardman Community Center in Hardman. Justice of the Peace Charlotte Gray officiated. The bride is the daughter of Arletha Brannon of Heppner and the late William W. Brannon. The groom’s parents are Mike and Marlene Gray of Heppner. The bride’s wedding dress and veil were made by her mother. The dress was a floor-length white satin gown w ith a front pleated stand- up collar with a rose accent, a lace bodice, a dropped waist with lace sleeves and pearl buttons that belonged to her grandmother. The flared skirt had a traditional train with a scalloped lace trim with ribbon roses and pearl tip. The back had a pleated bow with a rolled rose accent. The elbow-length veil featured beaded pearls and silk roses with pearl spheres and a gathered lace pouf. Matron of honor was Sheri Arbogast, Lexington, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Karmin Jacobsen, sister of the bride, Santa Clara. CA; Susan Lankford, sister of the groom, Lexington; and Monique Alexander, friend of the bride, Opelika, Al. Best man was Ty Arbogast, Lexington, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Ted Schwartz, Heppner and Ryan Duncan, Ellensburg, WA. both friends of the groom and Steve Lankford, Lex ington, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Russell Brannon, Heppner and Marty Brannon, Portland, the bride’s brothers. Flower girl was Kassidee Hutchinson. Boise, Idaho, friend of the bride. Josh Lankford, Lexington, the groom’s nephew, was ring bearer Candlelighter was David Gray . Heppner , cousin of the groom Soloists were Merry Brannon, sister-in-law of the bride and Cin dy Kennedy, both Heppner. Organist was Rose Marie Buschke. A reception was held at the Hardman Community Center follow ing the ceremony. Hostesses were Bonnie Buschke and Carolyn Holt. Gail Burkenbine and Ginger Keithley cut and served the cake. Betty McDonald, great aunt of the bride, served coffee. Joyce Alexander. Opelika, Al, friend of the bride, and Meriedith Witcher, Tillamook, served punch. Merry Brannon and Arlene Kindsfather sister of the groom, were in charge of the guest book. The bride is a 1987 graduate of Heppner High School and a 1988 graduate from Earl’s School of Hair Design. Pendleton. She is employed as a hair stylist at Hair Works in Pendleton and Cheri's Hair and Nails in Heppner. The groom graduated from Heppner High School in 1988 and from Universal Tech. Institute at Phoenix. Az., in 1989. He is employed as a mechanic at Kinzua Corp. in Heppner. After a wedding trip to Lake Tahoe, the couple is at home in Heppner. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1985 with a major in journalism. He was an outstanding athlete in high school and played football for the U of O and competed in Pac 10 football. He is president of the Wilson McHenry Co. and works in high-tec strategic planning and business consulting. Wilson resides in Saratoga.
