Scope o f work called for in this bid shall include, but is not limited to all necessary crafts re quired to install a Dust Collector System in Columbia Junior High School. T w o Heppner boys have received the highest honor that a cub scout can receive, the Arrow o f Light. Royal Robinson, the son o f Kirk and Delia Robinson, and Scot McDaniel the son o f Steve and Debbie McDaniel all o f Heppner, received that honor on Monday, June 1 at the May-June pack meeting held at the Hepp ner Elks Club. The Arrow o f Light award is the only Cub Scout badge that the boys can take with them into Boy Scouts, and the only award that is recognized if they become adult Boy Scout volunteers. Scot and Royal are the first boys in two years to achieve the award. They each completed requirements for 20 activity badges, many more than the minimum o f eight. The two, who are Webelos, will graduate into Boy Scouts next year. A nature advancem ent ceremony was also conducted during the pack meeting The scouts placed “ leaves" on a bare tree. The leaves represented ad vancem ent and achievem ent awards. The meeting also featured songs and skits, the Tiger Cub completion ceremony and other award presentations. Around 40 boys participated in the local scouting program. St. Patrick’s Parish vacation school set Religious vacation school for St. Patrick’s parish will be held June 8-12 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The theme for children age four through eighth grade will be “ To Jesus Through Mary” and is a scripturally based, Christ- centered approach designed to give children an understanding of the basis for the respect and honor which Catholics have always ac corded to Mary, the mother o f Jesus. By examining and reflec ting upon the person o f Mary as portrayed in scripture, the children are helped to understand Mary as the foremost model o f Christian faith. A variety o f activities will make it a fun, meaningful ex perience. For a finale, the children will be taken to Lehman Hot Springs on Sunday, June 14. A public hearing will be held on the following: 1. Conditional Use Permit- N-50-Umatilla Ready-Mix, Inc. for a Concrete Ready-Mix Plant in Township 4 North, Range 25, Section 11, Tax Lot 401, located in a General Industrial (MG) Zone. Reed Superintendent Published: June 3, 1992 PUBLIC NOTICE Irrigation Storage Water Available from W illow Creek Dam and Reservoir The Bureau o f Reclamation is taking applications from in dividual irrigators to enter into temporary contracts for the 1992 irrigation season for the use o f water stored in W illow Creek Reservoir. All applications must be postmarked no later than June 11, 1992, and mailed to the Bureau o f Reclamation, Atten tion: PN 440, 550 West Fort Street, Box 0 4 3 , Boise ID 83724-0043. The storage water is available to supplement existing water sup plies on lands that are currently being irrigated. Each applicant should list the total quantity of acre-feet o f water desired from storage for this season, the total numter o f acres to be served, the location o f the land to be irrigated within each quarter-quarter sec tion (a 40 acre tract), and the point o f diversion from W illow Creek. If the total amount o f stored water requested on the ap plications exceed s the total amount available, the total amount o f storage water available will be divided by the total number o f acres to be served and each applicant will be sent a draft contract for an equal amount of stored water per acre. All losses incurred in conveying the stored water from its release at Willow Creek Dam will be borne by contractors. The contract cost o f the storage water is $8 per acre-foot along with a $100 contract preparation fee. Payment is not due until a contract is submitted for execu tion. The above price o f $8 per acre-foot returns an appropriate share o f the Corps o f Engineers’ construction, operation and maintenance costs to the United States. Each applicant is also re quired to contact the Oregon Water Resources Department in Salem to obtain a permit to divert storage water. The minimum fee is $600 for a drought permit. Applications must be submitted to the Bureau o f Reclamation at the address given above, and postmarked by June 11, 1992.
