Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, April 29, 1992 - THREE Obituaries Lillie L. Sasser Lillie L. Sasser, 102, of Fossil died Friday, April 24, 1992 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Heppner. The funeral was held at the First Baptist Church in Fossil on Tuesday, April 28. Concluding service and burial followed at the IOOF Cemetery in Fossil. Mrs. Sasser was bom March 24, 1890 at London, Ky., to William and Martha Asher Reams. The family moved to Mitchell in 1907 where she com pleted her education. She then began working at the hotel and at ranches in the area. On March 24, 1910 she mar ried Scott Sasser at Mitchell. In 1911 they moved to Fossil. Mrs. Sasser was a longtime member of the Baptist Church and a member of the choir. She was involved in many communi ty affairs and reigned as queen of the Eastern Oregon Pioneer Pic nic in 1973. Survivors include daughters Mary Lee Britt of Lexington, Minnie Miller of Prineville and Lillian Reedze of Lakeview; sons, William and Vernon both Portland; sister, Thelma Sexton of Vancouver, WA.; 20 grand children and 27 g reat grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. Her husband, a son Paul and a daughter Lucille Dean, all died earlier. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fossil Baptist Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 365 Fossil, or the Haven House Retirement Center, Box 386, Fossil, 97830. Sweeney Mortuary of Heppner was in charge of arrangements. Beth C. McBride Graveside services for Beth C. McBride were held at the Hepp ner M asonic Cem etery on Wednesday, April 29, 1992. Mrs. McBride, 75, Heppner, died Saturday, April 25, 1992, at Elzora Manor Nursing Home in Milton-Free water. She was bom Dec. 2, 1916, at Hermiston to George and Hazel Spiegel Olsen. On April 24, 1936 she married Eldon “ N ate” McBride at Milton-Free water. She lived at Heppner until 1982 and had been a resident at Elzora Manor since that time. She enjoyed the mountains and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Dan, of Lexington; sister Alice Ligh- tle of Walla Walla, W A.; brothers Leon Olsen of Milton- Freewater and Ron Olsen of Pasco, WA. Her husband died earlier as did a brother Marion Olsen. Sweeney Mortuary, Heppner, was in charge of arrangements. Death Notice Margret Ann Wright Word has been received on the death of Margret Ann Wright, Fossil. Mrs Wright died in Newport April 20, 1992. The funeral will be held at the Methodist Church in Fossil on Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. Dona tions may be made to the Fossil Ambulance Fund. Births Michael Francis Royer-a son Michael Francis, was bom to Deborah and Michael Royer of Hermiston, on April 14, 1992 at Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston. The baby weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. Sheriff’s Report The Morrow County Sheriffs office at the courthouse in Hepp ner reports dispatching the following business during the past week: April 21: Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area to take a complaint of Theft by Deception. Investigations are continuing; M orrow County deputy assisted the Benton County Sheriffs office in a theft in vestigation in the Irrigon area. In vestigation is continuing. April 22: Morrow County deputy responded to an Irrigon residence to investigate allegation of harassment. Investigation is continuing. April 23: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Heppner ambulance to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Hwy. 207 N. Lex. One male was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to Columbia Court in Boardman for one male who had fallen. There was no transport; M orrow County deputy responded to a motor vehicle ac cident with no injuries on Hwy. 730 at the Fish Hatchery Road. April 24: Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a neighborhood problem; M orrow County deputy responded to an unlocked door at an Irrigon business. Door was secured. April 25: Morrow County deputy responded to the Board- man area for a family dispute; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for an animal problem regarding a dog bothering chickens; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a reckless driving complaint; M orrow County deputy responded to Irrigon for a report of a deer that was hit on Hwy. 730, one-half mile east of Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to a complaint in the Irrigon area of three-wheelers driving in the city limits. Depu ty was unable to locate upon arrival. April 26: Morrow County deputy assisted the Heppner Police department with an assault that occured in the city limits; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a burglary that occured at the David Franke residence. Taken was a TV, speakers, table, jewelry, coat. Amount of value was approximately $1,929; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance to the Arlington city park for one male with injuries. Transport was made to The Dalles, Mid Columbia Medical Center; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for an assault that had occured on Cain Drive; M orrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for a juvenile problem regarding 3-wheelers; M orrow County deputy assisted Heppner Police depart ment with a suspicious vehicle on the Heppner-Condon Highway; M orrow County deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle eight miles East of Heppner; M orrow County deputies responded to a residence on 3rd, in Irrigon for a family disturbance. April 27: Morrow County deputy responded to a residence eight miles east of Heppner for a suspicious vehicle; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of Theft. Money was taken from a vehicle; Morrow County deputy con tacted an Irrigon resident regar ding phone harassment; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Condon am bulance to 211 W. Well St. Con don, for a female with a hip in jury. Female was transported to The Dalles; M orrow County deputies responded to Pauls Restaurant in Irrigon for a report of an intox icated male causing problems. No action was taken by complainants. Robert Joseph Weseman, 21, Heppner-Exceeding the Max imum Speed Limit, 69 mph in a 55 mph zone, $46 fine; Mark Edward Parm, 34, Ione- No Trailer License, $68 fine; Richard Leslie Kelley, 47, Boise, ID-Exceeding the Max imum Speed Limit, 65 mph in a 55 mph zone, $46 bail forfeited.
