TEN - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, April 15, 1992 Sheriff's Report The Sheriff’s office at the cour thouse in Heppner reports dispat ching the following business dur ing the past week: March 31: Morrow County deputy arrested Michael Eric Caesar-Cook, 25, Pendleton, for Arson II and Burglary II. Subject was cited and released with a court date; M orrow County deputy assisted Boardman Police Dept, with a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex in the city; M orrow County deputy responded to Wilson Road to in vestigate a report of a road hazard. Problem was solved; M orrow County deputy responded to Irrigon for an animal problem. Deputy was unable to locate animal upon arrival; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of a missing person. Per son had been located upon depu ty’s arrival; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on West Patterson Ferry Road. Deputy was unable to locate accident. April 1 : Morrow County depu ty responded to Irrigon for a report of a Prowler. Deputy was unable to locate prowler; M orrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area to take a report of theft. Investiga tions are continuing; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a theft report. Investigations are continuing; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a family disturbance; M orrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for an animal problem. A cow was hit on E. Wilson Road. April 2: Morrow County Sheriffs office arrested Robert Gene Morley, 23, Irrigon, on a Umatilla County Sheriffs office felony warrant for Driving While Suspended. M orley was transported to Umatilla County Sheriffs office; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to a one vehicle rollover on 1-84, mile post 159, east bound. There was no transport; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area to take a theft report of a five horse rototiller valued at $900 from Chris Sels, 8th St. Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Heppner am bulance to Jones Street. One female was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with an unknown injury; M orrow County deputy responded to cattle on the Wilson Road in Boardman. April 3: Morrow County depu ty began investigation of the theft of tools from a residence at Wagon Wheel Addition in Irrigon from Jim Miller. Amount of value was undetermined; Morrow County deputy in vestigated a report of an abandon ed vehicle on Kunze Road Board- man, that was a hazard. Vehicle was moved off the road; M orrow County deputy responded to 1-84, Boardman area, for a report of a disabled motorist. Deputy was unable to locate vehicle; M orrow County deputy responded to assist a stranded motorist on 1-84, mile post 159; Morrow County deputy con tacted an Irrigon resident regar ding phone harassment. In vestigation is continuing; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Fossil am bulance to the Haven House in Fossil for a male patient with an unknown illness. There was no transport. April 4: Morrow County depu ty contacted an Irrigon resident regarding a possible animal neglect problem; M orrow County deputy responded to an Irrigon residence to investigate a report of a stolen bicycle. Bike was located; M orrow County deputy responded to an Irrigon neighborhood for a noise distur bance. Noise abated; Morrow County deputy ar rested Juan Manuel Canchola, 44, Umatilla, for menacing. He was released on his own recognizance. April 5: Morrow County depu ty assisted a stranded motorist on Hwy. 730 mile post 170; Morrow County deputy receiv ed a report of a sailboat in distress on the Columbia River near Ir rigon. Boat owner was able to come in on his own power; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the BP station in Boardman. for a female who had fallen. Female was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital with unknown injuries; Morrow County deputy con tacted an Irrigon resident on WA. street regarding a trespassing com plaint. Investigation is continuing; Morrow County deputy con tacted a resident in Irrigon regar ding a neighborhood problem; M orrow County deputy responded to Hilltop D r., Board- man, for a report of a trespasser on private land; Morrow County deputy receiv ed a report of loud music on Utah St., Irrigon. Caller advised situa tion was resolved, no further ac tion taken; Morrow County deputy ar rested Estanislado Alderete Jr., 30 Boardman, for Violation of a Restraining Order. He was lodg ed at Benton County. April 6: Morrow County depu ty took a report of theft from Morrow County Road Dept. Theft occured at Penland Lake from one of their vehicles; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Mitchell am bulance to Walkers Ranch near Richmond for one male with in ju ries. Male subject was transported to Prineville Hospital; Morrow County deputy took a report of a missing horse. Horse was last seen on Gooseberry Road in lone; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a neighborhood problem involv ing a dog problem; M orrow County deputy responded to a residence on 2nd St. Irrigon for a report of mischief. April 7: Morrow County depu ty recovered a stolen vehicle from Hermiston. Rodriguez posted bail and was released; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a juvenile problem. April 8: Morrow County depu ty responded to a vandalism call at OPl parking lot. Investigation is continuing; M orrow County deputy responded to a motor vehicle ac cident at intersection Hwy 207, Willow Creek Road. Heppner ambulance transported 42 year old male to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with injuries. Citation was issued to John W. Monahan for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice responded to a juvenile pro blem in the Irrigon area. There was no further action. April 9: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the A rlington am bulance to a residence on Chance for a female with an unknown illness. Female was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital; M orrow County deputy assisted Navy personnel with a motor vehicle accident. Two peo ple were transported to the Umatilla Army Depot infirmary; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the Riverview Motel in Boardman for a female with an unknown illness. Female was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital; Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Mitchell am bulance for a female with an unknown illness. Female was transported to Redmond Hospital; M orrow County deputy responded to the U.S. Naval Facility on Bombing Range road for a report of suspicious activi ty. Investigation is continuing; M orrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for a report o f suspicious circumstances; M orrow County deputy responded to a motor vehicle ac cident on Hwy 730, mile post 170. There were no injuries. April 10: Morrow County Sheriffs office responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Hwy. 730, mile post 172. Deputy was unable to locate accident. April 11: Morrow County deputy responded to a residence on Hilltop Dr. Boardman, for a report of a trespasser. Rafael Martinex, 23, Boardman, was ar rested for Burglary I and lodged at Benton County Jail; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice responded to a juvenile pro blem in Irrigon. Problem was unfounded; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice responded to an unwanted person situation in Irrigon. Depu ty was unable to locate person upon arrival; M orrow County deputy assisted the Boardman Police Dept, with a disturbance in a Boardman business parking lot. April 12: Morrow County deputy cited and released Rick Rea, 32, Boardman, for main taining a dog as a public nuisance; M orrow County deputy responded to a possible custodial call in the Irrigon area. Call was unfounded; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Fossil am bulance to the Asher Clinic for a transport of one female. Patient was transported to the Madras hospital; M orrow County deputy responded to Tower Road in Boardman, for a report of cows in the roadway. Open range area. April 13: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Condon ambulance to a residence on Oregon Street. Transport was made to the clinic. Group plans tour The Morrow County Creative Arts and Crafts group has plann ed a trip to Toppenish, Washington on April 27. The group will be viewing the many murals in the town and visit a cultural arts center. Plans are to leave Heppner at 7:45 a.m. Members interested in going and needing a ride should call 676-9844 as soon as possible. Katie Riney finalist in state coed pageant Katie Riney Katie Riney, a sixth grade stu dent at Condon and the daughter of Dave and Sara Riney of Con don has been chosen as a state finalist in the Miss Oregon American Coed Pageant to be held May 22-24 at the Portland Hilton. Katie is the grandaughter of Jiggs and Rita Bowman, $1,000 DOLLAR Heppner. Miss Riney has been active in school volleyball and basketball programs and a variety of 4-H projects. She enjoys cooking, modeling, 4-H work and accor ding to her parents, “ socializ ing.” Supporting Katie with sponsor ships are Processor Chemical Service of Prineville, Trim West Beauty Salon of Condon and family and friends. The Miss American Coed Pageant is open to girls between the ages of 4-19, with goals bas ed on inner beauty as well as poise, appearance and “ an all- American spirit for family, fun and friends.” Gaining self confidence, lear ning new skills, learning good at titudes about competition and set ting and achieving goals are emphasized. The winner of the pageant in Portland will receive a cash award, a crown and banner and will represent Oregon at the na tional pageant.
