Members started off by having a test on the parts of a steer carcass. Jeri McElligott talked about record books and community service ideas. The group formed a com munity service committee of Megan Proudfoot, Miranda, Nikki and Mark McElligott. Members talked about what they were going to do at future meetings. Stephanie Haguewood will give a report on the exterior parts of a steer and Megan Pro udfoot and Mark McElligott will do a presentation on different cat tle breeds. At the steer weigh in members will try to guess the weight of the steer. Whoever guesses closest will get a prize. Members went to the Proud foot corrals. They practiced judg ing steers and heifers. Bill Broderick, Extension agent, helped. Jason Proudfoot showed the equipment members will need at fair. Amy Drake brought refreshments. The next meeting will be March 15 at the Drake ranch. Two-Trackers Officers were elected at the first spring Tw o-Trackers meeting. Jossie Evans was elected president; Stephanie Skultety, vice president; Mandi Gutierrez, secretary; reporter- Andrea Miles. Club members will begin their riding program this Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. in the fairgrounds arena. General horsemanship and equitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. followed by hunt seat over fences from 3 to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come with your favorite horse. Beginning golf classes offered through Blue Mountain Com munity College will begin Friday, St. Pat’s teen dance planned A St. Patrick’s day celebration teen dance will be held Saturday, March 14 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Morrow County Fairgrounds, Pavilion. Music for the drug and alcohol free dance will be provided by Full Tilt Audio of Pendleton. Ad mission is $2 per person. Sunspots affect T V channels Heppner T.V. Inc. is experien cing solar interference period during which degradation or loss of satellite signal occurs at ap proximately 1:06 p.m for 10 minutes each day until March 6. This solar interference is an in herent part of satellite operations and occurs in the spring and fall of each year. St. Patrick’s 'Senior Center Bulletin Board The menu committee met recently to choose menus for the senior dinners for the next three months. The Senior Focus group met on Feb. 25. Chairperson Grace Drake reported on the county rural health meeting. The group discussed various rural health problems and decided to focus on a wellness clinic. Eulenna Vaughn chairperson of the Boardman/Irrigon senior focus group was a guest at the meeting. Tuesday afternoon Merri Reamer met with the office receptionists to discuss changes there might be in office routine now that she is no longer with ECO AC, but working for Morrow County. District Attorney Jeff Wallace talked to the group about seniors rights before the mealsite on Feb 26. He also entertained by playing the piano. One hundred-twenty-two people attended the dinner, two meals were taken out. There were eight out of town guests. Members of" the Catholic Church served. The meal ticket was won by Grace Buschke. Ernie McCabe won the door prize and Gloria Hoffman, the guest prize. Wilma Mabe received the birthday gift. Thursday, Feb. 27 the AAA executive board met with approximate ly 35 people present. Marilyn Bergstrom and a crew of volunteers prepared lunch for them. Saturday evening a group went by senior bus to Hermistor where they enjoyed dancing. The menu for March 11 is Spanish rice with meat, green beans, peaches, com bread and brownies. Members of the Lexington Bap tist Church will serve. The Senior Board will meet following dinner. Dates to remember: Monday, quilting 1-4 p.m. St. Patrick’s quilt tickets are still available at the center; Tues & Thurs. 10-10:30 ex ercise; Friday 10:30 a.m.-Bible study; Saturday bus to Hermiston dance.
