T in has been helping Rick Johnston with the Beavers. Obituary Hazel E. Hamlin A memorial service for Hazel E. Hamlin will be held at the Heppner Elks Lodge on Thurs day, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. A crypt- side service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Gresham on Friday at 1 p.m. Mrs. Hamlin, 97, Heppner, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1992 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Heppner. She was bom Dec. 15, 1894, at Portland to John and Christina Thim. She grew up in Portland and attended schools there, graduating from Washington High School. On Sept. 15, 1932, she married Frank Hamlin at Portland. They lived in the Gresham area during the 1930s and 1940s and moved to Heppner in 1950. They own ed and operated Hamlin’s Tavern in Heppner for many years. Mrs. Hamlin was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Umatilla Salon 552-80 and 40. Survivors include a son, Royden Herlinger o f Bend; daughter Maryette Wright of Gresham; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Her husband Frank, and a grand daughter died earlier. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Memorial Hospital Fund, PO Box 9, Hepp ner, OR 97836.
