By Becky Wagenblast On October 3, the lone Middle School Lady Cardinals trounced the Heppner Ponies in a volleyball match, lone won in two games 15-10, 15-6. The game started out with the Ponies taking a two point lead But lone fought back and Suzy Heideman got four serves in a row. Heideman served up nine points total in game one. IMS downed Heppner 15-10. In the next game M elissa McElligott and Becky Wagenblast had perfect serves for a combined total of eight points. Stephanie Haguewood had a killer spike on one of lone's bump, set, kills, lone beat the Ponies again 15-6. In the “ B" game lone took con trol and won 8-15, 15-6, 16-14. Kara Miller had a lot of excellent serves. lone beat Echo 15-12, 15-13. South Sherman 15-12, 15-5, and Wasco 15-10, 15-5. The next game is at Arlington Thursday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m WRIGHT CHEV. Heppner Filly returns a serve against Riverside By Lisa Wilman The Fillies went up against River side on October 1 and held on strong to beat the Pirates 15-8, 15-6. Sheila Dunaway served for five and Holly Eckman served for four in the first game. Becky Norton and Kim Johnston each had six points in serving for the second game. The Eckman sisters, Heather and Holly, and Nina Tucker, all had excellent spikes and dinks to help their team to victory The JV Fillies knocked off the Now with plush character designs coordinated with a To Kids With Love card They make great gifts for any reason. Pirates fast as they won 15-1 and 15-2. Jodi Johnston led both games in serving points with six and 12 repsectively. Jenni Krein and Chrisy Schultz helped out with good spikes. The JV record stands at nine wins one loss. The C team won their two games 15-11, 15-2. Roberta Luciano serv ed for 10 points in the first game with Kelsie Evans and Dani Hill ser ving five and four respectively in the second game. The C-team record is six wins one loss for the season. Jerom e SheAdûH- The Senior Focus Group met October 1. Chair person Stan Hoobing reported on the September 26 Morrow County Health Council meeting. The group received an A for participation in the project. There were 92 present for the Senior dinner October 2 with four dinners taken out. Truman Messenger won the meal ticket, the door prize was won by Ida Colman and Lela Carty of Pendleton received the guest prize. Members of the Lutheran Church served. Merri Reamer ECOAC, AA Resource Person announced that she is available to answer questions about Medicare, Medicaid, medical cards, homemaking help and other problems seniors may have. She may be con tacted through the Senior Center Office, the ECOAC office I -800-452-8112, or at her home number 481-3522. The Nutrition Committee met after the dinner. The menu for dinner on October 16 will be lasagna with meat, peas and carrots, fruit salad, garlic bread and pudding. Members of the Christian Life center and the Mormon Church will serve. The Willoughby Hearing Aid Service man will be at the center Friday, October 11 from 9 a m. to 12 noon. Four seniors went to the Art festival in Pendleton in the dollaride car. October 1: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Arl ington fire department for a trailer on fire on 1-84 mile post 132; Morrow County deputy took a report of a dog problem in the Ir rigon area; Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Boardman ambulance to the Terrell Apartments. One female was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital; Morrow County deputy respond ed to Hwy. 74, mile post 49 to at tempt to locate a horse and rider in the dark; Morrow County deputy respond ed to the Irrigon area for a dog com plaint. A male subject was bitten by a dog. Steelman posted 10 per cent bail; Morrow County deputy respond ed to the Irrigon area to investigate a report of a prowler. Deputy was unable to locate prowler. October 3: Morrow County S h eriffs office dispatched the Boardman ambulance to 1-84, mile post 165 to a one vehicle accident Two male adults and one female were transported to Good Shepherd Hospital; Morrow County deputy respond ed to a domestic disturbance in lone; Morrow County Sheriffs office arrested Gina Marie Troxell, 24, lone and Richard Ray Creighton, 28, lone for Assault IV Both were cited and released; Morrow County deputy made con tact with the lone school as several bullet holes were found in the building; Morrow County deputy respond ed to old Hwy 730 for a horse loose on the highway; Morrow County deputy contacted a residence in Irrigon regarding a dog problem; Morrow County deputy took a report of a possible family dispute in the Irrigon area; Morrow County deputy respond ed to the Boardman area for a neighborhood problem; Morrow County deputies respond ed to Anderson Road in Boardman, for a report of a trespassing viola tion. There was no action taken; Morrow County deputies respond ed to assist the Boardman Police department near a local business for a possible assault. There was no ac tion taken. October 4: Morrow County depu ty made contact with a Lexington business regarding a check for non sufficient funds. No action was taken by complainant at this time; Morrow County deputy assisted Oregon State Police with a warrant arrest. October 5: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Hepp ner ambulance to a residence ii. Heppner for an ill woman. The woman was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital; Morrow County Sheriff s office dispatched the Fossil ambulance and AirLife to a residence on “ A” street for a man with an illness. The man was airlifted out; Morrow County deputy respond ed to Browns Truck Stop, Irrigon. for a report of possible vandalism to a vehicle. Call was unfounded; Morrow County deputy arrested Henry J. Buckhaulter, 35, Orlando. FL. on a Florida warrant for Cor ruption by Threat Against Public Servant Buckhaulter was lodged at Benton County jail; Morrow County deputy contacted an Irrigon resident regarding a domestic problem. Turned out to be a civil problem; Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Arlington fire depart ment to a field fire on 1-84, mile post 125. October 6: Morrow County depu ty responded to the Weary Traveler Motel in Irrigon, for a report of a fight in progress. Problem d is p u t ed before deputy arrived. There was no action requested by parties involved October 7: Morrow County deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on the old Hwy. 730 and First. There were no injuries. Lester M. Jensen, Irrigon was cited for Failure to Yield; Morrow County Sheriff s office dispatched the Heppner ambulance to Court Street for a woman with an unknown problem.
