The advanced team members, juniors Jennie Ashbeck and Jason Hanna, and sophomore Andy Ashbeck, finished 6th in the Steagall. Regular business included appointing members to water Friendship Park during August. A community booth at the Mor row County fair was planned. Members set up the booth Monday Aug. 12. The yard-of-the-month honors went to Bill and Debbie Sheirbon. Although they don’t have alot of flowers, they usually have something Jenny Krein was high individual point winner in greenhand competi tion; Rondi Robinson was second high; Brent Wright fourth; Char Coe sixth; and Kelsie Evans was Uth. The teams had to judge two classes of beef, sheep and swine. Each class consisted of four animals. The next contest will be held at the Morrow County Fair on August 14. Garments constructed by clothing project members will also be model ed at Fashion Revue. There are nine skill levels in the 4-H clothing pro ject. Skill levels are not age related. Members pass through the skill level according to their interest and experiences. The Fashion Revue, Thursday, August 15, 7:00 p.m., at the outdoor stage is an opportunity to view 4-H clothing projects and recognize the efforts of participants. The Thursday, August 15, 7 p.m. Fashion Revue is actually two events. ‘My Favorite Outfit,’ is a 4-H contest unique to Morrow County, and is open to any 4-H pro ject member. A youth models his or her favorite outfit after a judging in terview to discuss reasons the gar ment is a ‘favorite. ’ The object of the contest is to promote good con sumerism, wide wardrobe planning and selection, and coordination. The hunter education course is designed to teach young sportsmen to be ethical, responsible and safe hunters. No persons under 18 years of age may hunt wildlife (except on their own land) without successful ly completing this course. “ The class isn’t just for young people who intend to go hunting,” stressed Mycal Osmin, “ but for all young people who have guns in their home.” Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their children.
