Umatilla National Forest is current
ly working on the Environmental
Analysis for the proposed Flatiron
Timber Sale in the general area of
Stahl Canyon and Long Prairie. Re
cent forest health concerns have
deemed this area as a high priority
for vegetative management so as to
reach the desired future condition, as
stated in the Umatilla National
Forest Land and Resources Manage
ment Plan Along with forest health,
wildlife, watershed, and range (graz
ing) concerns will be an important
part of the analysis. The project will
propose a range of alternatives for
management activities.
