A total of 25 golfers en joyed breakfast and braved the elements to get the 1991 golfing season underway. Prize winners were as follows: Low gross-Don Lott, 66; second- John Edmundson 71; third-a tie bet ween Greg Grant and Dave Gunder son, 74. Low net-a tie between Randy Lott and Rick Paullus, 54; second-a tie between Rick Sturgeon and Howard Bryant, 55. Long drive-John McCabe; K.P.- Dorian Forrar; least putts-Randy Lott. BMCC continuing education is of fering a beginning Rung Fu San Soo class, a Chinese martial art, in structed by Bob Sagely. People ages eight through adult are welcome to attend. The classes will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April 2. Cost is $20 for six weeks. The course will focus on self defense skills and students will benefit in the areas of self-esteem and self-control. San Soo has a history dating back over 2,000 years and is considered by many martial arts historians as the ’’grandfather” of most modern systems. "While the physical side of the course is important for health and self-defense purposes,” explained Sagely, "the character building aspects of studying a martial art are equally as important as outcome." G oering to speak Lois Goering, OSU Extension home economics program leader, will be guest speaker at the District VII, Oregon Extension Homemakers Council meeting, April 4 at St. Patrick's center in Heppner. Coffee and registration will be begin at 9:30 a m. A salad luncheon w ill be served at a cost of $5. There Wranglers plan cleanup meeting A Wrangler Riding Club cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, March 30 at 12:30 p.m. at the Wrangler grounds. All members are requested to come and bring tools for cleaning and repairing. Playdays will begin Sunday, April 7. A Wranglers’ meeting will be held Wed., March 27 at 7 p.m. at Kate’s.
