Fillies end season with 34-56 loss By Lisa Willman The Heppner Fillies went up against Imbler, 18-4, at the regional playoffs F riday, M arch 1 at LaGrande, and came out on the short end. losing 34-56. The Fillies end ed their season 11-11. The Fillies took an early lead in the first quarter but the Imbler Pan thers tied the score at five with three minutes left. One minute later the Panthers took the lead and a last se cond shot at the buzzer put Imbler ahead by four. In the second quarter the ball just wouldn’t fall for the Fillies. Both teams attempted 25 shots, but the Fillies sank only five while Imbler manged to hit nine. The Fillies did better from the charity line, hitting seven out of nine while Imbler hit four of 10. The haiftime score was Heppner 17, Imbler 22. In the second half the Fillies couldn’t get anything to go their way. Shots bounced in and then roll ed right back out, while Imbler could do no wrong, hitting from 80 per cent from the field and 70 percent from the foul line. Nikki Brisbois ended her high school career scoring 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Amy Greenup pulled down eight re bounds. Becky Norton assisted in scoring with six points and had five boards. Nina Tucker and Heather Eckman scored four points each. Lisa Rasmussen had 23 points and 17 rebounds for Imbler.
