Chamber Chatter By Claudia Hughe«, Chamber Manager * What is this wet stuff falling from the sky? Isn’t it wonderful to see the drops of dew on everything and the dust settle. Those attending the rodeo on Friday night were treated to a beautiful rainbow disap pearing behind the cross on the hill. * As of today, the county for Cy cle Oregon is 1,845. Each day we receive new updates in the mail and deadlines are drawing closer. Ukiah was hosting 170 cyclists on Monday. The park was filled to capacity with multi-colored tents and spandex dry ing on the fence. All I could think of was “ ten times that many in less than three weeks.” Things like a smiley faced balloon, a sign above my typewriter that reads “ first you breath” and terrific co-ordinators keep me plunging ahead. * Winner of the drawing for a “ Heppner Survivor” Cycle Oregon T-shirt is Audrey Edmundson, a resident of Pioneer Memorial Nurs ing Home. Congratulations, Audrey. These T-shirts are available at the Heppner Chamber Office at $12 cyclists. * Chamber will hold a regular Tuesday meeting August 28 at the Heppner Elks. Program will be a presentation by Sarah Carlson on the “ Gold Card” program, an academic achievement recognition program she would like to propose to the business community.
