The two building blocks of hospitali ty are: What we say to our guests/customers and how we say it. To enhance a visitor’s experience, we need knowledge of our local area and a positive attitude when deliver ing that knowledge. Here are “ Ten Commandments For Being a Superhost’' as offered through the hospitality training: 1) maintain a positive attitude; 2) show interest in others; 3) be prompt, courteous and pleasant; 4) look your best; 5) know all about your com munity and encourage visitors to stay and see Oregon (Heppner); 6) put yourself in the visitor’s/customer’s place; 7) offer to help before being asked; 8) be a good listener; 9) greet customers and invite them back; 10) wear a smile. Nearly 80 percent of visitors say that “ relaxing and sightseeing” are their primary reasons for coming to Oregon, so let’s see that they have the opportuni ty to do just that. For those of you venturing out, stop by the Chamber office/Heppner TV to pick up some free brochures. Just hot off the press i r * ’Oregon, The Official Travel Guide’’ and Heppner has two full paragraphs finally. Also available is a worldwide Chamber directory for your reference, so if you wish to travel to a specific destination, you can contact the particular office to send you information. We aim to please. Come by Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. to celebrate Heppner T. V.’s 35 years in business.
