Heppner Coast to Coast privately owned business Memorial services for James C. Lovgren were held May 8 at the Heppner Elks Temple. Lovgren, 65, died Friday, May 4, 1990, at his home near Heppner. The son of Frank and Hannah Erickson Lovgren, he was bom Aug. 22, 1924 in Heppner. He grew up and attended schools in the Heppner area. He married Jeanne Sumner Witt on July 3, 1947. After a divorce, Lovgren married Katherine Harris Butler on Nov. 24, 1972. He worked for many years as a logger and at the time of his death was employed at the J.J. Farley Ranch. He was an avid soorts- mans and member of Heppner Elks Lodge No. 358 for 38 years. Survivors include his wife, Katherine, at the home; sons, Frank of Heppner and Charles Butler of The Dalles; daughter, Vickie Butler Millard of Portland; brothers Victor of Pendleton, Alfred and Marshall, both of Heppner, Robert of Lex ington, and Frank "T im " Lovgren in California; sisters, Erma Keithley and Gladys Alderman both of Hepp ner; Edna Harshman of Milton- Freewater; and Betty Way of The Dalles; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private graveside services were also observed at International Order of Odd Fellows or IOOF Cemetery in Hardman. May 3: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Condon am bulance to a one vehicle roll over five miles west of Condon on highway 206. May 4: Morrow County deputy responded to a business in Irrigon to investigate a theft of $230 worth of cigarettes; Morrow County deputy arrested Donna June Schneider, 37, in Hepp ner, for Tampering with a Witness and Aiding and Abetting a Rape. Schneider was lodged at Benton County Jail; Morrow County deputy respond ed to a report of reckless driving; Morrow County deputy respond ed to a report of vehicles speeding down Oregon St. in Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched a deputy to investigate the report of criminal mischief at a residence in Lexington; Morrow County deputy arrested Richard William Baher, 26, on an Ir rigon Justice Court Warrant for Failure To Pay Fine/Attempted Assault IV. Baher was lodged at Benton County Jail. May 5: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched a deputy to in vestigate the report of a domestic dispute at a residence in Irrigon. Deputies arrested Teddie William Hays, 38, for Burglary I, Assault II, & Menacing. Hays was lodged at Benton County Jail; Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Heppner fire depart ment to a fire alarm at St. Patrick's hotel. Alarm was false; Morrow County deputy respond ed to a disabled motorist on 1-84. Vehicle was towed; Morrow County deputy respond ed to the Irrigon area for a neighborhood disturbance; Morrow County deputy respond ed to the Boardman area for a report of a stolen purse. Call was unfound ed and purse was found; Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Arlington ambulance to a residence in Arlington for a male with unknown injuries. Subject was transported to Mid Valley Medical Centerin The Dalles. May 6: Morrow County deputy responded to a neighborhood distur bance in Irrigon. The problem was resolved. During the week of April 30 to May 6, Morrow County deputies assisted two disabled motorists. May 7: Morrow County Sheriff s office responded to attempt to locate a possible intoxicated driver in the Boardman area. Call was unfounded; Morrow County Sheriff s office responded to the Irrigon area to in vestigate a complaint regarding some juveniles in the park area. No fur ther action was taken; Morrow County deputy respond ed to the Irrigon area to investigate a family disturbance. Problem was resolved. C om e In and test d riv e it... Justice Court ____ Report The Justice Court office at the courthouse annex building in Hepp ner reports handling the following business during the past week: Eugene Alan Hale, 42, Heppner- Operating ATV on Public Road. $16 fine; Nicole M arie Harnden, 18, Heppner-No Angling License, $20 fine. The arraignment, not the trial, for Victor Klinger, who was charged with criminal tresspass on Devin Oil property, was scheduled for Mon day, May 7, at the Irrigon Justice Court. Charges against Klinger have since been refiled with the Morrow County DA's office, however. (See related story.) Joshua James Slayton-a son, Joshua James was bom to Jacky Lee and Natalie Slayton of Mt. Vernon, on April 29 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Baker City. The baby weighed 9 lbs. 7 ozs.
