Heppner Gazette-Times, Ilrp p iw r, Oregon W ednesday, Septem ber 13, H Hearing screening planned in county The Umatilla Education Service District (BSD) will he providing hearing screening to public elcmen tary school students including alt kindergarten studentvstudents in grades one and three, new students to the county and parent'teacher principal referrals of students in kindergarten through (Sth grade Screenings will he held in Boardman on Sept 26 at 9 a m ; in Heppner on Oct 2 at 9 a m . and in Irngon Oct. 18 at 9 a m The hearing screening is done by the Umatilla ESD for public school students of Umatilla and Morrow Counties It is cooperatively spon sored by local school districts Ap proximately 4000 children will be H eppner G arden club m eets seen Children who fail the initial screening will he re-screened within a three week period If the follow up screening indicates it, those children will he referred for a hear mg evaluation by the ESD audiologist and medical follow-up at a two day otology clinic at the ESD If you hase any questions regar ding the hearing screening pti*gram. please contact your school principal, or contact the Speech.
