Oregon State Grange secretary, and her husband Kd Lu t trell State Grange gatekeeper (they are alv> the Oregon State Youth of the Y e a r) and Sharon Mahan. Annahelle invited the granges to a reception at the G illiam County Museum honoring Katherine Jaeger on her 90th birthday July 23 starting at I p m Kd Luttrell had a few words on the recent initiation from the 1873 manuals which was put on in various granges throughout the state by the Youth o f the Grange Th e work was done quite differently then, and the men and women were not brought in together but each group separately Celia told the group of the work at State headquarters and that there is m uch discussion now on the ritualistic work of the Grange Sharon Mahan talked on member ship and the importance o f keeping the members we have, and en courage new members She urged all Pomonas to have conference A book "P ro u d Heritage" is on sale and dwells with the Grange and its beginning Th e group voted to buy one, and if it is interesting to grangers and non grangers alike the book may be purchased and donated to the various libraries The pntgram was on "W heat for Peace" and was a slide presentation by Van Rietmann o f Condon, who narrated the slides He told of the need and the ways one could go about helping this project W ilm a Martin told how all could be healthier, thinner and more beautiful by eating wheat The next meeting w ill be Sunday.
