Degree and wins Co-Op Contest
Several incidents of vandalism
nave been reported at Willow Creek
Dam Park recently, according to the
Morrow County Sheriff s Office
Some of the incidents include lit
tering. knocking over trash cans,
defacing roadways, tearing down
road signs, spray painting signs and
destmying swimming markers at the
cost of $80 apiec e
These incidents are costing the
taxpayer* names These acts of van
dalism involve both the county and
the Corps of Engineers If the corp
investigates these crimes, they
become federal offenses with fines
from $300-S3.000
Anyone with information regar
ding these incidents or witnessing
these acts of vandalism are asked to
contact the Morrew County Sheriff s
office

An alcohol and drug free dance is
being held as a new item this year
in conjunction with the St Patrick’s
Day celebration, sponsored by the
Parents Club. This will involve
students from junior high through
high school.
The band that will be playing is
‘Klue’, a band that Kevin Gutierrez
used to play with Members in the

The dance begins Saturday,
March 18, at 9 p m and runs until
midnight It will be held at the M or

The cost is *2 per person and

All students arc invited to come
and celebrate St. Pat's Day in
Heppner
Barney Lindsay placed first in the
C o o p quiz contest held in Pendleton
on March 4. The contest consisted
of a five page test over cooperatives
and an oral interview about the can
didate’s knowledge of cooperatives
Barney was also last year’s district
Co-op quiz winner He will now ad
vance to the state finals which will
take place in Bend at the Oregon

covering agriculture in general and

Earl J. Blake received his life membership certificate and a
plaque for being an active member of the lone Masonic Lodge
for over 66 years. He joined the lodge February 1. 1922 and
was past Master in 1932 He received his 50 year pm in 1973.
Earl is a Heppner resident and past lone resident Presenting
