Nebraska, and is sweeping the nation to declare November 20. I9HH, as an In terdenominational Day o f Prayer to call upon God with a united voice and pray in churches and synagogues, prayer groups, and in dividually that a cure for Diabetes might he granted to our research C o o p e r a tio n and people. Pioneer Memorial Hospital has gone through more ad ministrators, has gone ihmugh more doctors than the paper mentioned, spent thousands o f dollars to recruit doctors, hoard members hy the hand full, changes o f the fudge and coun ty commissioners and surprise, we are again in a situation, due I feel to lack o f communication W e still have three things in out favor ( I ) we have gained an ad jiumstrator (M r W ick) that has given us an uncalled for 17 hours a day trying to get us turned around and headed in the right direction. (2) we have two doctors, Dr Ed and Dr Jeanne Bcrrctta that have said ‘ W e love it here . < '> St Anth.'in Hospital as o f the 23 rd o f December wtll terminate their contract with Pioneer Memorial Hospital I still feel that this could he in our favor Their original contract was to end June o f I9 t9 The one biggest problem is, we still have a county court that refuses to get out o f the hospital business The one thing they don’ t need to he in. As a taxpayer and voter, wc have control o f the school hoard, and through the budget they submit for our approval we can control their operation No county court involved The hospital submit's a budget the court gets its fingers in the pot. wc loose control and here we are again, involved in lack o f cooperation and communication The hospital as a whole can not go it alone without an outside support group T oo many small hospitals, some larger than wc. have closed but only with difficulty. Small hospitals need all the expertise a larger facility can offer and this was unforeseen when the budget was prepared W e hope that St. Anthony Hospital can he prevailed upon to provide their services to us once again Show your support by m en ding a public meeting at the County Courthouse at 4 p m November 2 1.
