Fire at Blake Ranch burns 5 acres On July 13. 1988, LCDC review ed the County'» request for com pliancc with the statewide planning goals for the Port of Morrow pro perty The commission found that the plan complied with the statewide planning goals for this area This acknowledgement completes an effort since January 1973 when the State of Oregon legislated that all counties develop a comprehensive land use management plan according to state guidelines The County plan was also acknowledged by LC DC in January of 1986. hut 10(1) Friends of Oregon appealed the decision to the Court of Appeals and 1.8X0 acres of Port of Morrow properly was excepted from the comprehensive plan On May 19, 1988 Morrow Coun ty resubmitted its comprehensive plan with adequate reasons for in eluding the questioned 1,889 .arcs of Pori industrial property LClX' found that the county's land use plan complies with the statewide plann mg goals LCIX' Director Ross praised Morrow County's land use planner. August 25 at 7 p m. at City Hall The public is invited Following is a list of facts about the landfill as submitted by the city of Heppner l ) Taxpavers approved a 3 year serial levy for $86.472. S28.824 per year 2 ) Operation of ihc landfill re quires the purchase of a dozer in the amount of $100.000 as recommend ed by the engineer hired by the City of Heppner for the siudy of the land fill It was then decided to cut the dozer amount to $50.000 That has really created a problem because the City of Heppner cannot locate a good used dozer for that price. Repairs for used equipment of this type can run $30,000 to $40,000 The City of Heppner does not have resources for this 3 I D E Q will give conditional Tuesday morning The lire burned on state land and is now in the "mop up stage" says a forest service employee. Seville-two days, and Touremellions on the coast for four days They were also fonunate enough to spend one day in Afnca. visiting the Casbah which is a huge market plac e and Malcolm Forbes house for a tour of the museum and gardens A snake charmer was an interesting item there While in Paris they visited the l.'Ouvre.
