Arts and Crafts July meeting will be
a potluck dinner July 25 at 6:30p.m.
at Cam Wishart's home at 140 S

Marsha Sweek is the new Direc­
tor of the Museum She assumed her
duties as half time director on July I
Marsha is married to Greg Sweek.

works for the Juvenile Services

Marsha would like to implement
a variety of programs such as
musical events, speakers and craft­

would like to encourage 1 there to use
the facility for community events.
July 24 is a kick-off of "Music on
Mainstrcet". "The first, hopefully,
in a senes of cultural events that w ill
be happening.” says Marsha
She encourages people of the area
to stop by and see what is available
at the museum

Care more than 32 hours a week will
not be charged an additional fee. but
must register if parents wish their
child to participate Heppner Day
Care will not be able to provide
transportation to and from day care,
but will help in organizing a car
pool,
Registration in both classes is
limited to 19 children, so parents
w ishing their child to attend should

Winkle, who has operated the pre
school for the last several years has
retired from the program This year
the pre school will he sponsored by
Heppner Day Care.
Cost for the program will remain
the same as last year. $35 for four-
year olds and $20 for three year
olds.

Brothers John and Leo Doherty of
Pilot Rock and cousin Marian
Doherty of New York entertained
the sometimes Annual gathering of
the Doherty class with Irish Ballads
and other songs.
One hundred forty-five Doherty
relatives of all ages and sizes
descended on the Tony Doherty
ranch in Blackhorse Canyon, on
Sunday, July 3 for a potluck picnic
and family celebration
First cousins met for the first time
after brothers Mark and Paul Doher­
ty of Marysville. Wa . arrived to
find brother and sister Brian and
Marian Doherty of New York, and
cousin Anne Doherty ot Cardonagh.

Doherty, who homesteaded the
