Justine came to Morrow County
about 20 years ago when she mar
ried long time rancher Bill W eather
ford Justine is known for her many
contributions to the community A

made to the community include ac

Bookworms. Heppner Chamber of
Com m erce, Methodist Church
member, church hoard, Heppner
Senior Citizens Ciroup. taking meals
to shut ins. helping with and par
licipating in the Morrow County

Librarian She continued to support
the library in later years Another ot

lived with her for a time
Justine was also known for her

member ot the Heppner Chamber ol
Commerce. Heppner blk's Lodge
and is very active in the Garden
Club His interest in working with
flowers is apparent from the flowers
you see as you drive bv his home on
the Heppner Lexington Highwav
He came out of semi retirement to
work lull time. 24 hours a day. five
days a week to cover the emergen
cy room for a community that has
been without a physiclan since June
He has had to assume the respon
sibility for medual .are lor '2 nur
sing home residents in order to keep
the hospital and nursing home open
Dr W olff continues to keep o|n-n
his practice and is one of the tew
doctors still making house calls

bid to the Bowling Association thus

passes in March, the Morrow Coun
ty School District has reported

posed budget are up $519.272 over
the current year's

repairs that have been pulled out ot
previous year's budgets to cut costs
"The district has had two extreme
ly lean years in funding for educa
tional equipment and support pro
grams, namely instructional equip
ment building maintenance and im
provements. and transmutation
equipment.” McCaslin said in his
yearly budget message "Eventual
ly . in these areas the district reaches
a point ot no return' trom which it
becomes impossible to catch up
McCaslin says the budget reflects
beefed up purchases of buses and
needed rcjvuirs done on school roots
“ Our fleet is old and needs to be
replaced,” McCaslin said of the
district buses He says four new
buses arc in the budget this year

a lease purchase, whichever is most
econt’mu al McCaslin said a total ot
12 buses eventually will need to be
replaced, and "w e can t catch that
