November 11. 1987 - SEVEN Grange meets in I^exington By Delpha Jonas Wheatland Pomona District No 29 met at the Lexington Grange hall on Saturday October 31. with the Master Annabelle Jeager in the chair Nathan and Margaret Thorpe of Columbia Grange were recogniz ed at this time Subordinate Master present »as Delpha Jones of Lex- ington Grange Officers reports »ere heard at this time, »ith Mime visiting other granges, and encouraging Grange work Several of these officers and members attended the conference held in September at the Columbia Grange Hall »lien several of the Na (tonal officers »ere present for the conference throughout Oregon The conservation magazine car ried an article on Helen and Stanley Timmerman of Pendleton, »ho are one of the ten finalists for the soil and water conservations awards I he Timmerman * farm consists o f4000 acres of »heat and other grains There »ill be three f.iuliits chosen from the ten finalists to make a trip to Washington D C to receive recognition A dinner »as served after »hich the group enjoyed a cake »alk and a program under the direction of Wilma Martin The salutation of the order was demonstrated by poetry, and two readings were enjoyed The afternoon business was the election of officers.
