vestigated theft of $1700 worth of
fishing equipment from the Irrigon
area

Supply for a female who had fallen

was transported to Pioneer Memorial

T o the Editor:
I'd just like to espress my deepest
appreciation to the ones that ran over
my cat on 545 Jones St Thursday
night. Oct I God knows you didn’t
even have the decency to move it out
of the mad or at least tell the owner
Rut then, I do forget him how sick
Many enjoy garden club’s efforts

Most people who have been to
downtown Heppner have noticed the
flower boxes along Main Sired
Many have enjoyed Ihe efforts of a
few dedicated members of our corn
munity The Heppner Garden Club
spent many volunteer hours keeping
the flower boxes attractive I asi
year, small evergreen trees were
planted which have been maintain
cd There were flowering bulbs in
ihe spring and annuals all summer
that continue lo bloom into fall
The garden club membershave
planted, fertilized and hauled water
to the flower boxes, (hiring the hoi
lest part of the summer, they were
watered almost daily, luist week
when ihe Heppner Garden Club
hosted the regional meeting. M r and
Mrs Rawlins sel out several con
tamers of Mowers around town and
everyone enjoyed ihoir hcauly for

Road Report

The M orrow County Public
Works Road Department completed
two miles of the Big Butter Creek
Road project, including asphalt re­
processing. subgrade compaction,
shoulders widened, additional top
course gravel added, and a prime
course asphalt surface treatment w ith
a second course of ^ -inch oil rock
The six miles previously reprocess
ed has been under compaction and
will begin asphalt surfacing next
week, following repair o f the Road

On ihe North F.nd the crew has
done some patching on Frontage
Road and Highth Street, and spent a
good deal of time mow mg weeds and
brush in Ihe Boardman area Repair
of (he mowing machine delayed ihe
completion of this work Die North

ofa drainage culvert across Wilson
Road, as part of that project Fcnc
mg. roadway clearing and grubbing
Right o f Way work continues on this
project l.ast week the North End
crew filled in on the Big Butter

addition, weed mowing and brush
cutting on Kunzc Road and Tom
Camp Road completed that week
