The bride, given in marriage by Noel Gay Harvhman. Sr., wore a long,
white satin and lace drew with train and a chapel-length veil.
The bnde'* mother, Thelma Gilbert of Tenino. Washington, wore an or
chid three quarter length taffeta gown with tiny embroidered rose bod*
Her father i* Eldon Gilbert o f Heppner The bridegroom’» parents are Earl
and Charlene Papineau o f LeKington
The Rev Doug Akeson officiated at the ceremony Best man wa* Donald
Papineau. lone, a cousin of the bridegroom. Bridesmaid was Renea Powell,
a friend o f the bride, from Tenino. Washington Flower girl was Jaylcnc
Papineau o f Lexington Ring bearer was Bnan Papineau of lone Ushers
were Jay Papineau and John McConnell o f Lexington Ella May Florca was
soloist.
Receptions were held at the Church Fellowship Hall and at the Earl
Papineau home following the wedding ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to Wallowa Lake, the couple is at home in
Pendleton

over looking the ocean and has a
beautiful view ot the ocean and light
house While in Gearhart Mary
visited with lots of friends and had
a luncheon with a group of ladies.

nor had asked for 5486 million in aid
to local schools in I987 88. com
pared to $481 million in the current
year To add another $10 million this
year and $20 million in 1988 89, the
legislature is being asked to waive
the limitation on spending, in order
to send the money to local school
districts
In the first year, the governor'»
plan would guarantee that no Oregon
district will receive less state aid than
it received in 1986-87. "Without this
m easure. 143 Oregon school
districts will actually receive less in
1987 than they did in 1986," the
governor said "That's why it’* so
vital."

A most enjoyable evening was
held at the Valhy Lutheran Church
on Sunday Those attending visited
the cemetery and heard about the
beginning of the church Early
ministers were met in Arlington and
brought by wagon, usually a one
night camp out. to the area where
each was a guest of one of the
families in (he area The building
was quite snull but was added to un
til it is now a lovely building with
a nice kitchen, study rooms and
recreation room The history was
presented by Holland Bergstrom A
devotional was given by the Rev

by Kerry Hansen ol the early Scan
dinavian settlers, tanning scenes and
