Treasurer Amy Wagenblast and News Reporter Nancy Mortcr The subject of a new dub leader was brought up and discussed Club members discussed the 4 H presen tation that was on (Xioher 5 at the 4 H annex The club will build sheep stands at the Proud foot home sometime nett spring Refreshments were furnished by Bill Broderick and Nancy Morter P U B L I C N O TICE Lexington News P U B L I C N O TIC E H> Delpha Jones One of the outstanding meetings of the Rcbekah I odge was held on Thursday evening with a fun Hallo ween party Some of the members came in costume to Tit the occasion, however, there were no ghosts out that night to prowl around, but odd looking creatures, and many wit ches The rooms were decorated with lighted candles, and a ghost story was shown concerning a very early settler of Islington, who died unhappy with the city and sent his body parts bac k to haunt the citizens Prizes were given to Dorothy Jackson for the best costume, and leila Palmer for the best costume designed at that lime A game was played with Dorothy Jackson winn ing the prize and the door prize was won by Virginia Peck A shon business meeting was held with Kathy Tellechea in the chair Refreshments of a decorated cake and coffee were served by the hostess committee. Luella Taylor and fieri Martin A card party is planned for Saturday. Nov I and a bazaar with pic, coffee and cards in the afternoon will be Tuesday. November 4 Islington Grange was busy the weekend with an officers training session on Sunday at which time Morton Wolverton State Master. John Pine State Oversecrer. Celia Luttrell. state secretary, Sharon Mahan. Eastern Oregon State IXpu ty. Ercda Wolverton. state comuni ly service chairman, and Kay Erne, state lecturer were present to help the officers with any problems, and to suggest ways to spark up the meetings to get the members to at lend, and to suggest ways of getting new members This was an educa lional meeting Coffee and cookies were served in the afternoon and the meeting adjourned about 5 p m There were members present for (iilliam. I'matilia, and Morrow Counties I.exington Grange met Monday evening lor the regular meeting with a potluck dinner, served in the din ing room A door prize was given to Betty Carlson The program was a most educational and interesting talk on the Port of Morrow by Louis Carlson, a member of the Port Com mission He told of the work in the north part of the county and the business now at the port, alfalfa pellet processing plant, a chip loading dock. Gourmet Foods and other projects, and that perhaps there arc ntorc coming into the area in the following months He told of the commission’s part in all this, and also expressed that the Port of Mor row is available for help to (he vrnth part of the county also Hr spoke of some of the finances, and the way workings arc funded Following this Fred Toombs of Columbia Basin Electric talked to the group about an easement needed for the company, which was granted At the business meeting presided over by the Master, Delpha Jones, reports were heard concerning the Sunday meeting, a report from the chaplain, «5 Heppner FFA Chapter and a report from the insurance agent were heard The Blue Moun tain Fiddler's concert wasannounc ed and a report im the Spaghetti Sup per consisting of spaghetti, garlic- bread . cabbage cole slaw, and dessert was to be served Pomona will meet at 10 a m at Mikkalo Grange on Saturday.
