March 5 Students saw a "H a iry Stars" slide show narrated by Jeff Estes They made individual models of a comet under the direction of Diane le m ie r e Other activities included playing a computer gam e with information about H alley's Comet and watching a dry ice demonstra tion of how comets are formed Some of the things students said they learned about comets were Comets have two tails, the blue tail of a comet is made of gasses, the white tail of a comet is dust. the nucleus of a comet is the size of Ml Hood, a comet is a dirty snowball, the three parts of a comet are the nucleus, coma and tail.
