Heppner was down by four points and had to go for the steal With just over a minute left Dana Keid fouled out and Tina Davidson cam e in to fill her position Mac Hi continued to shoot well and just under a minute Lana Keid fouled out Cindy Stroeber filled her position The Killies fought tough to the very end but couldn't out score Mac Hi W e lost to a good team and I feel some positive things happened dur ing the gam e.' said Killies coach Mike Boyer We got off to a slow start and fell behind by as many as 12 points in the second quarter but we didn t panic We battled back tough and took the lead late in the third quarter They shot the ball extrem ely well in the fourth quarter and that's what won the gam e for them.' added Royer lama Keid led all scorers with 25 points Missy Kuhanks put in 13 points and pulled down eigh t rehounds while Dana Keid had 12 points and sis assists The Killies start into league play this weekend taking on the Riverside Pirates at Boardman Kriday and the Stanfield Tigers there Saturday We ve had a good pre season and I feel that we re ready for league pla y to start.' said Royer "W e 'v e beat some good teams and have played very well at times and we re going to get better as the season goes on We just have to keep working hard " concluded Royer Statistics Kuhanks « I I 13. Winifred and Bob Kvans On Christmas E v e and Christmas Day. they w ere guests at a friend’s home in Eugene Charles Kcibhoff was their host and his granddaughter and a friend who had just returned from Jerusalem were also there They enjoyed a wonder ful Christmas dinner On Kriday, she cam e home with Kathryn Hos kins and Krances Mitchell Mr and Mrs Bob Harris had as guests recently their son Greg Harris, his wife. Cindy and their two children from Silelz While here they enjoyed cross country skiing and v is itin g the Museum and Library They returned to their home on Sunday Mr and Mrs Charles McConnell received word that their son in law. Brian Hargrove, of Klamath Kails, had suddenly taken ill and has been taken to the em ergency hospital However, it was not as serious as originally thought and he will soon be home The McConnell’s son. Tom, has returned to Pendleton to attend Blue Mountain Community College and their son. Rich, to La G rand e w h ere he is atten ding school Heppner They enjoyed fishing int he lake behind the dam Dorothy and Wilbur Jackson spent Christmas in the Portland area visiting their family After Christ mas they brought their two grand children.
