Growth in the Boardman schools could mean more for teachers for next year, the Morrow County School Board was told Monday night Riverside High School I ’rincijial Dan Daltoso said that his school presently has :MI students enrolled, and that there may be as many as so more students next year "Our problem is one of numbers." Daltoso told the board in making a request to budget for two more teachers "I think the justification for two new teachers is there, based on numbers alone " He said this year's senior class has 51 students, the juniors have 72, Sophomore class Hfi and the freshman 94 He added that next year's in coming freshman class could have 95 to lixi students The jump in emrollment could cause problems for the high school in that additional classes are needed in English, history, science, math, jjersonal finance and citizenship He also jxnnted out to the hoard that woodworking classes are full, and that changes in college require ments will force the school into adding classes in social studies The school hoard agreed with Daltoso. and voted to include the additional teachers in next year's proposed district budget Crowding at Sam Boardman FT ementary school caused the princt jial there to request additional staff next year Principal Susan Tolar asked the board to add either one full time teacher or two part-time aids at that school in next year's budget In other business, the board -voted to adopt a jxrlicy against tobacco use on school grounds and at school functions Previously the district had no jmi I ic > against lobac 676-9157 Kale’s has a R V Heppner High School advanced woodshopclasses have recently completed an eight week project and two hojje chests The 1‘htlippine mahogany chest left was made by from left John Kenny.
