IM I Garden Club projects recapped Members of the lone Garden (Tub met June I t at Beechers for a no host luncheon before their bust ness meeting Plans were made for mem bers to attend the meeting of the Oregon State f ederation of Garden (Tubs in Pendleton June 17 IP Helen Martin and l » r r e Hubbard will be the official delegates Jean Nelson will lead the welcoming song. Pat Petty John will assist with hospitality and Helen Martin is in charge of dis pensing badges The members of the club have helped to make individual favors and center pieces of wheat for the 330 who will attend the Tuesday evening banquet The club will cooperate with the lone Centennial Com mittee by furnishing p m e money for some of the con tests Discussion was held concerning the flower show for Morrow County f a ir Most of the members will help Wrights’ yard awarded in some way al that tune The club also voted to award a prize for the best exhibit in flower arranging in the Beginners Class Lrila Palm er was empowered to purchase craft materials to be given to the Pioneer M emorial Nursing Home to help with therapy The July meeting will be at the home of Jean Nelson Helen Martin will give instruction on the best ways to prepare flowers and vegetables for exhibit al the Morrow County Pair Members also will meet with the Heppner (Tub on July 17 to learn how to make a collage This is one of the new classes for (air follow in g the meeting a number of the members toured Kmmigrant Hoad from Cecil to Wells Springs They saw some of the ruts of the Old Oregon Trail, the marker lor Colonel Gilliam at Wells Springs, and a number of maripusa lillies on the way Sharing program slated Friday Oral and M a r|o rie W right mangolds petunias, etc merit the award Kspecially attractive is the large clematis vine covering the back porch The Wrights have lived in lo s in g ton for 13 years and are retired The yard of M arjorie and Oral Wright has been chosen by the lx'xington Garden Hugs (or the June yard of the Month honor The general neat appearance of the yard and the lovely flowers pansies. Iowa, and attended a family reunion in Hudson.
