V. HORSES Horse Judging Contest To Be Held July 7. Tatone's Arena Boardman Open to all 4 II members Each contestant w ill judge halter daises, riding classes, and tack feed identification Each contestant w ill submit oral and written reasons on class as specified by judge I It Horse Show. August 10.1 a m Entrants must tie preregistered by July 29. at County Extension Office Entrants requesting stalling w ill tie assigned stalls prior to the show open to 4 H members enrolled in a 4 II project in Morrow County Contestants must ride horses they have owned or leased and have trained since June I. 1985. and must do all work possible in preparation for showing the horses The horse contests w ill tie conducted according to rules and recommendations of the "4-H Horse Contest Outline. 4 H 1301" and "Oregon 4 II Horse Project. 4-H 130" and rules established and set down by the Morrow County 4 H Advisory Committee Equipment Western stock saddles, bits and reins optional, hackumort- hosals, snaffles acceptable llackamroe bits, tie downs, running martingales and draw reins are not allowed Plain leather or flat curb chains must be one half inch in width Dress Should conform to class Boots are required, hats and spurs are optional No chaps allowed except in trail horse class There w ill fie no horses on trail or jumping course after course set up There w ill tie no horses except in trader area, arena and far east part of grounds Age classifications Beginner first year members in the 4th or 5th grade Junior second or third year members in the 5th or 6th grade. Intermediate 7th, 8th, 9th grades Senior 10th. 11th. and 12th grades* Each member must use same hors*- for showmanship equitation, and trail but are not required to use same for both Western and English classes Exception Member exhibiting in colt training, colt showmanship and first year under saddle may exhibit more than one horse at fair A member cannot cross enter horse shown in the rolu showmanship and-or coll training class However, if member has no other equitation horse, first year under saddle animal may be used in regular classes, but may not enter other equitation classes The All Around Award is based upon One third from showinahship. one-third from Western or English equitation, and one third from trail horse class For All Around Award in each age group, only one horse's point w ill count Entrant will specify on entry from which horse to count points on Entrant w ill also specify whether to count Western or English equitation on entry blank Entrants not specifying w ill receive lowering of .mints DIVISION 1 — RECORD BOOKS PREMIUMS Blue 1«.
