"The girls literally ran their way
to second district championship in
three years."' said head coach Dale
Conklin as the locals scored all of
their team points in the running
events
" We figured we had a shot going
into the meet." Conklin said Hut I
gave up on our chances as the meet
went along and the results of the
field events were slow to come in It
wasn t until the final team scores
were announces! that we knew we
were the team winners

track meet this weekend at Ml Hood
Community College in Gresham in

did not make the finals
Anderson placed third in the 3. odd
meter run with a time of 10 04 7,
taking almost nine seconds off his
previous best He missed qualifying
for stale by Just over two seconds
In the javelin. Cook increased his
personal best by nearly 14 feet, with
a throw of 127' 4", just missing the
finals In the 4tw meter dash, he
qualified sr the finals, but fell short
