To the editor What is it with our local law enforcement What are we paying wages for with our tax dollars, if they don t want to do the job ’ First of all I am referring to the diagonal parking area fronting the Museum Library Why are semi and truck traitors allowed to park in the diagonal area where cars could park and have easier access to the building especially in the area of the handicapped ramp area’ There are night meetings held in the building each month Most arc attended by senior citizens and some handicapped persons During one meeting a policeman came in to ask a handicapped person to repark his rig as it wasn t legally I»arked Rut do they ask the truck drivers to please move down" No I have witnessed a police car pass the building during the hours we are open time and again and I am sure they have noticed the parked trucks making the building inaccessible to patrons of both Library and Muse um What can be done'' I hope something and soon, before some older person is injured by falling on ice which is never cleared off city sidewalks o r due to the poor light mg fall, because it was neccesary to park so far from the lightest area at night or a child hit during story hour as they had to park far away and maybe cross a busy street Sincerely, ' s Johanne Wood Heppner. Good Will Toward Men. and in the comfort of our home w ith family and friends we also should think of the special care our animals need be cause of the cold weather Your animals, who are living outside need warm water twice a day. and good nourishing food at least once a day They also need a well protected place where they can go to get out of the weather It takes much more food energy to keep animals warm, and they tend to loose weight because of thrw energy drain We realize that all who care for their animals will have already done these thoughtful things Hut now by law. as of May 1984. these are required Abandoned animals have little chance to survive Water is frozen, food lacking, and shelter scarce in this weather Young animals have no chance at all Please call us before you decide to break the law by abandoning or :■ 94 :c Peterson’s Jewelers 676 9200 Vi, Ginger, Connie, Marlene & Randall P E TTY J O H N O IL C O M PA N Y M lY l :i D ll F a r m C h e m ic a ls S e rv in g 3 C o u n tie s Petroleum Products Phone 422 7254 "
