Couple celebrates 50th at
Olympics
Garden Bugs honor McCarl yard

The couple have lived at 320 South
C St (or over 30 year»
The well kept yard 1 » a joint effort
with Morris doing the heavy work
and Shirley caring for the beautiful
flowers
Some of the varieties of
flowers in their yard are sweet peas,
dahlias, pansies minature roses,
rmniahs and sweet William
The garden in back produces
enough vegetables to last through
the winter
The whole area is very well kept
and is very worthy of Yard of the
Month award

ding anniversary as guests of their
sons Larry and l-ance. at the 1964
Olympic Came»
Dr and Mrs l.arry Tibbies were
the host» in Santa Ana to his parents
and also to his brother, law profess
or laino and his family from
Columbus Ohio who had visited in
Hcppncr before going on to Califor
ma Koch of the Tibbies sons has a
M»n and a daughter so there were
ten family members enjoying the
Olympic celebration which kept Dr
and Mrs Tibbies away from home
for eight davs

their home in Heppner since 1934
and have liv ed at 185 S Chase since
19:16 They both work at keeping the
lawn and many flower beds and the
vegetable section very neat

been prettier other years and that it
usually looks tietter at other times of
the year than now near the end of the
summer period, however, the row of
red geraniums in the brick planter
