Sheriff s Dept, siezes W ranglers add open potted pot plants class to this year’s show On Tuesday. August 1$. the Mor row County Sheriff s Office siesed 35 marijuana plants ranging in sue from four to six feet tall from a com field in the Irrigon area stated a press release from the Morrow Co Sheriff's office The Moffow County Sheriff and several deputies raided a corn field near Irrigon and confiscated 35 marijuana plants that were being grown in pots amoung the com This brings the count to date approxim ately 250 marijuana plants seized in the north end of the county by T tlll year’s Wranglers Morrow (.Dunlv Horse Show w ill be held Saturday. August 25 at the fa ir grounds in Heppner The horse show, which started over 25 years ago has expanded this year to include Open Class Competition Seventeen open class events w ill la* fe.iturid along with 12 Morrow County classes, which are for county residents who have owned and kept their horse* at least fio days prior to the show Superintendent Hurke O 'Brien stated. We saw the need to include open classes to increase the partict pants in certain events and feel the show needed to expand ’’ Many iniliv iduals and merchants have donated prizes Top awards this year are la-lt buckles Jim and Carlene West of lone have donated a $250 buckle to be given for the top tumor performance The Heppner Klks 1-odge has given a $100 buckle which w ill be awarded for the top senior performance " I f it weren't for this community involvement .we wouldn't have much of an event." O'Brien added The day begins at 8 a m with halter conformation classes Per formance events follows which will include Knglish western, trail, working cow horse, and games The judges are Jackie Pulps of Mosier and Paula King of Grass Valley This year's secretaries are Sue Kvans and Sharon Lewis, both of Heppner Entry forms may be picked up at Green Keed and Gardner's Mens Wear in Heppner and Kenny's Farm Market in Irrigon Tlie Wranglers w ill operate con cession stands during the show Country Shears Nichole Jones will he working Wednesday <V ihursday evenings A on Saturdays.
