Generally, the snow pack is above, to much above average east of the Cascades. April precipi tation was much above nor mal. Reservoir storage con tinues to be excellent and April streamflow was very high due to a rapid warming of a heavy anowpack. Water supplies are forecast to be near above average during the next three months. April precipitation was 124 percent of average throughout the area. Amounts received were: Heppner 1.939 "Ukiuh 1.60." The mountain snowpack re mains above normal. Site: Arbuckle Mtn. "A good time was held by all" reports President Gail Pap Ineau. In the 7 and under age group Rodney Ehrmantraut won the all-around trophy after total ing the most points the win ners in the seven and under category were: Barrels: first - Rodney Ehrmantraut; second - Casey O'Brien; third Mandy Gut ierrez; fourth Sara Greenup; Poles: first -Joey Huffman; second Casey O'Brien; third Sara Greenup; fourth - Josie Evans. Keyhole: first Rodney Ehrmantraut; second Joey Hoffman; third Josie Evans; fourth Casey O'Brien. Ages 8 10 all around was Steve Hoffman with a total of 22 points. Co. educators slate golf tournament The annual Morrow County Educators Golf Tournament will be held at the Willow Creek Country Club Saturday, June 2, says a spokesperson for the educators. Educators from Giliam, Morrow, and Umatilla coun ties will participate. Some special guests have been invit ed. All together approximate ly 50 to 60 golfers are expected to participate. Tee off time will beat 8 a.m. with 18 hole play followed by a lunch prepared by the W.C.C. C. Ladies group. During the luncheon many prizes for var ious accomplishments will be presented. Heppner golfers are remind ed that on the day following, Sunday, June 3, the Echo men and women will come to Hep pner for a visitation playday a and lunch. Tee off time will be 9 a.m. Poles: first Andrea Ball; second Bridgett Greenup; third - Cindy Stroeber ; fourth -Missy Schoonover. Keyhole: first Missy Schoonover; second - Andrea Ball; third Bridgett Greenup. Trophy winner for the 19 and over age group was Barbara Gutierrez. The next play day will be May 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be a concession stand on the grounds with pop, hotdogs, chili, coffee, and snacks. Everyone is welcome to come watch and all mem bers are urged to join in the fun. "Thanks to all who donated their time and energy in run ning this weeks playday," concluded Papineau. Swim team to begin season Heppner Swim Team will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at the city swimming pool. All swim team members, prospective members and their parents are urged to attend said a spokesperson for the team. Swimmers will register with U.S. Swimming: meet with the coach, Lottie Laughlin; receive a summer meet sched ule; and discuss and questions concerning team activities. First Christian begins new Sun. school curriculum A new series of Sunday School lessons will begin for the summer months this Sun day, June 3, at the First Christian Church in Heppner said a spokesperson for the church. Lessons topics will be as follows: nursery (ages 2-3) How we grow in God's family; beginners (ages 4 & 5) We Learn to Obey; primary (grades 1 & 2) We Learn to Obey; grades 3-6 My Life with God; youth - Right Relation ships; young adult Bible Keys for today's Family, and adult The Rise and Fall of a Nation.
