Kevla Douglaa Drake a son Kevin Douglas, was born to Doug and Car ley Drake of Heppner April 25, 1984 at Consolidated Shepherd Mem orial Hospital of Hermlston. He weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. Grandparents are Grace Drake, Ashton, Idaho; and Donna and Roland Bergstrom, lone. Great-grandparents are Emma Drake, Heppner, and Mrs. Fern Marcum of Port land. Justice Court Report Justice Court at the Morrow County Courthouse in Heppner handled the following cases during the past week: Robert Lee Knox, lone Possession of Falsely Applied for Resident Hunting License, $77 fine. Ronald Lee Borst, Heppner Failure to do Driver's Duty Whose Vehicle Collides with Unattended Vehicle, 1300 fine. Johnnie Wade Moyer, Hep pner Violation of the Basic Rule, 52 m p h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone, $29 fine. Randy Roland Deblock, Portland Hunting Prohibited Area to wit: outside Willow Creek cow elk hunt No. 248A, 146 fine. Rolando Serva , Heppner -Defective Equipment, $13 fine; No Operator's License, $57 fine. Dale Allan Munkers, Hep- pner - Violation of the Basic Rule, 37 m.p.h. In a 25 m.p.h. zone, $28 fine. D.A. s Report Obituaries Sheriff's Report Hospital Notes The following patients were admitted and released from Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner during the past week : Ted Turner, Heppner - ad milled May 1, released May 3; Jerry McKinnon, Heppner admitted May 2, released May 6; Horace Durfey, Heppner -admitted May 4, released May 5; and Charles Rollis, Heppner admitted May 5, released May 6. The following patients were still receiving care at the hospital as of Monday: Lillie Phillips, Heppner -admitted May 4; and Roberta Garrison, Heppner - admitted May 6. A year a Morrow County lost the services of its building Inspector. Donald Dale, claim ing that he had been wrongful ly terminated by the county filed a law suit in December, lata claiming damages and suing Morrow County for $22,000 plus $7,500 for attorney fees reports County Counsel Mike Oths. The County Court "duly con sidered the subject" and filed a counter claim; the county's position was that Dale had quit. A jury trial began Wednes day. May 2 in Circuit Court at the Morrow County Court house in Heppner. The County Court was asked to consider and subsequently accepted a proposal to "dis miss the lawsuit with prejud ice" which means that the parties involved agreed to settle, calling their dispute even; the issue is settled and neither side can re-file. He was born Jan. 22, 1920, at Raymond, Wash., the son of John and Margaret (Warden) Rickert. On Jan. 31, 1969, he and Judy Schwantes were married In Sitka, Alaska. Rickert worked as the office manager for the Columbia Basin Electrical Coop from 1969 to 1982. He was a member of the BPOE 358, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, both in Hep pner. Survivors include his wife, Judy Rickert, Heppner; son Jerry of South Bend, Wash.; three daughters: Diane Samples of Tigard, Maureen Woodard of South Bend, Wash., and Robin Nelson of Raymond, Wash.; and seven grandchildren. A recitation of the rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Heppner. Funeral Mass at the church was at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 9. Casket bearers were Gene Doherty, Randall Peterson, Matt Hughes, Marey Groves, Bert Corbin, and Herman Win ter. Organist was Rikka Tews. Concluding services and in terment will be at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Raymond, Wash. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Sweeney Mortuary, Hep pner was in charge of arrangements. The Morrow County Sher iff's Department at the Mor row County Courthouse in Heppner handled the following business during the past week: On May 1, a Boardman ambulance responded to an injury at the East bound rest area on 1-84. An unknown male was transported to Consoli dated Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston. Oregon State Police, The Dalles Is investi gating. On May 2, a Boardman ambulance transported a 68-year-old male to Consolidated Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston. His injuries were reportedly caused by an ac cident which occurred at West Glen Addition. Also on May 2, the Morrow Co. Sheriff's office's investi gation of the burglaries of four cabins in the Cutsforth Park area over the weekend result ed in the arrest of Joseph Christopher Brantley, 22, of lone. The break-ins were reported April 29, and April 30, 1984 by the owners of the cabins. Numerous items were taken including two snowmobiles which were later recovered in the immediate area of the cabins. Brantley was arrested at his residence and was lodged at Umatilla City Jail. He is being charged with three counts of First Degree Burglary and one count of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. On May 3, Morrow County Sheriff's Department made a second arrest on the cabin burglaries in the Cutsforth Park area. Arrested was Rob ert Knox, 23, lone. He was charged with Burglary I. The sheriffs office is continuing the investigations of the bur glaries. On May 4, the Morrow County Sheriff's office arrest ed Joseph P. Focht, 22, Irrigon on a charge of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Also on May 4, the Heppner Police Department arrested Wayne Frank Florea, 19, Hep pner on a charge of Forcerv I On May 6, a Boardman ambulance transported one female from Taggares Farms to Consolidated Good Shep herd Hospital in Hermiston. Her Injuries were allegedly the result of a vehicle accident on one of the roads of the farm. On May 7, the Boardman ambulance responded to Boardman City Hall for a female with injuries. She was transported to Consolidated Good Shepherd Hospital In Hermiston.
