He discussed var Garden Bugs honor Robins yard Lexington News By Delpha Jones 989-8189 Three Links Club met at the home of Lula Palmer on Thursday for a regular meet ing. Plana were made for an Easter Day food sale to be held at Del s Market on Satur day at 8:30 a.m. The quarterly birthday party gift exchange will be Thursday evening at the lodge. Those that have drawn for this year, remember your Secret Sisters. Lovely refresh ments were served to Joyce Buchanan, Annella Padberg, Delpha Jones, Venice Hend reckson and the hostess. Next meeting will be at the Cecil Jones Ranch. Paul Morey and Erda Piper, have both been transported to a hospital in Portland. They had both been able to be at home for a short time, after a stay in St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, but were taken back to Pendleton on Monday from where they were taken by Mrs. Piper's daughter and grandson to Portland to Meridian Hospital. Marlene Duran accompanied them to the city returning on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hudson from La Grande have been visiting this week at the C.C. Jones Ranch. The turkey dinner planned for Easter Sunday at the Lexington Grange has been postponed to a later date. Delpha Jones and Josie Peck attended the 65th an niversary of Greenfield Grange in Boar dm an on Sat urday, April 14. All enjoyed a lovely spring afternoon. The meeting was called to order by the Master Martha Baker, who welcomed all and turned the meeting to Virginia Phil lips who introduced Mabel Allen who then read the his tory of that grange. Delpha Jones, Wheatland Pomona Grange deputy, gave a few words on the progress of the grange and country over the last 65 years: radio, televis ion, man in outer space, and the grange and its work. Several accordian solos by a visitor from Irrigon and solos nd skits from the State Line Grange Kitchen Bank - Con sisting of a men's quartet provided a great entertain ment for a fun and appro priate afternoon. Cake, punch and coffee was served. Jackie Thurmond small grandaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Peck, who has been visiting for several weeks has relumed to her home in Pilot Rock, An Easter Day program will be Sunday at the Lexington Sunday School at 10 a.m. Leita Messenger, was an outpatient at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton Wed nesday. Lexington Grange met on Monday night for a regular meeting with Master in the Chair. A lovely potluck dinner was enjoyed with the supper Committee of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stegall and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bloodsworth in charge. A fun and educational program was enjoyed. A game was played at the supper hour and the aerobic dancing class entertained. The aerobic pro gram improves one physical ly, mentally and personality a wise and is great fun. The class issued a gracious invita tion to anyone wishing to join the group. A program on Computers was greatly enjoyed, which explained how to handle a Computer and its adaptability to farm use. The door prize, an orchid corsage, was won by Josie Peck. The supper Committee for the May meeting will be Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Nelson. Elsie Huston is visiting her sister in Albany for a week. Buck Morris has returned from Alaska and is again running the Lexington Chev ron Service Station. Ray Papineau has been hired by the City of Lexington to fill a maintenance position. Recognition luncheon planned at Center The annual Recognition Luncheon for the Senior Vol unteers working in all pro grams under Retired Senior Volunteers Program (R.S.V.P) will be held Thurs day, April 26th at the Neigh borhood Center. It will be a potluck luncheon states Neola Mackey of the Center. Darlene Gerard from the Umatilla Co. Housing Author ity will be at the Neighborhood Center Thursday, April 19 to take applications for rental assistance through the Section 8 housing program. Janet Phillips, the Adult Family Services representa tive, will be at the Center Wednesday, April 25 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Food stamp applications are available at the Center.
