The Heppner Mustang bas
ketball team traveled to
Sherman Co, Saturday. Jan. 6
and lost to the Huskies by a
wide margin, 4.1 71..
Head Coach Brent Kggers
commented that it was their
worst game of the season.
The game was one that both
teams needed to win to slay in
play-off action. Unfortunately
it was the Huskies who domin
ated the game.
"Sherman was fired up and
we were flat." Kggers stated.
"We lost it in the first quarter
being down 18 - 5 at the end of
the first. We had no intensity.
We also had no offense exec
timi at a!!, showing no pa
tience at all." be explained.
The Huskies shot 61 percent
from the field while the Mus
tangs only shot 27 percent.
The Mustang defense tried
to shut down two brothers on
the Sherman team. Tod and
Mark Coles, who were excel
lent players, but they failed,
allowing them to earn 20
points and 17 points respec
tively. Kggers was not pleased,
stating "our own defense was
terrible. We needed to stop
them (the Coles) from getting
inside but we just couldn't and
they killed us."

The Mustangs did succeed
in only committing 12 fouls,
achieving a new low. Foul
trouble has been a constant
thorn in the Cager basketball
team' side, but even as one
