Gray of Heppner died January 17, 1983 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital, at the age of 89. She was born June 3, 1893, in Lexington, to William J. and Nettie May Rice Davis. Mrs. Gray was a resident of the Stanfield area from 1940 to 1967, when she moved to Hep pner. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the Hermiston Cemetery, with the Rev. John Maas officia ting. Casket bearers were Mike Gray, Ron Gray, Harold Grap, Skip Run, Dick Ruhl, Ted Davis and Cary Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Gray, Clarence A. Warren HEPPNER - Clarence A. Warren of Heppner died Jan uary 13, 1983 at Pioneer Mem orial Hospital in Heppner at the age of 81. He was born January 25, 1901, in Milan, Mo., to Virgil and Mary Warren. On June 14, 1928, he married Evelyn McDowell at Condon. He farmed for many years near lone. Mr. Warren was a member of Willows Grange, lone. Graveside services were held January 17 at High View Cemetery in lone with the Rev. S. Michael Sheridan of ficiating. He was preceded in death by three children - a daughter. Orville W. PENDLETON - Orville W. Gentry, a former Heppner resident, died January 13, 1983 in Walla Walla, Wash., at the age of 79. He was born December 8, 1903, in Ava, Mo., to Charlie and Cora Twitty Gentry. On August 8, 1928, he married Allie Shippes in Gainsville, Mo. They came to Oregon in 1938. Mr. Gentry lived in Hep pner, Pilot Rock, and also in the Portland-Vancouver area for 10 years. He had been a Pendleton resident since 1964. Funeral services were held January 17 at Sweeney Mor tuary Chapel in Heppner with the Rev. Don Shelton officia ting. Musical selections were by Bill Kenny, soloist, and Rikka Tews, organist. Casket bear ers were Ellis Pettyjohn, Delmer Buschke, Greg Green Bridal shower to A bridal shower to honor Anita Holleman, bride elect of Rick Peterson, of lone, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 7 Guest speaker scheduled at Heppner Nazarene The Church of the Nazarene in Heppner will host a special speaker this Sunday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. and again at 7 p.m., announced the Rev. Floyd Wilks. pastor of the church. Gary Smith, of Spokane, Wash, will speak on the abuse of alcohol. Mrs. Smith will provide special music. Survivors include two sons, Robert Gray of CresweU and Merritt Gray of Heppner; daughters Faye Ruhl of Lex ington and Florence Gray of Heppner; a sister Gladistine Mikesell of Spokane, Wash. ; a nephew, Clayton Davis of Pendleton, who was raised by the family; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Concluding services and vault interment were at Heppner Masonic Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Allie Gentry, of Pendleton; sons Billy of Heppner and Jack of Pendleton; a brother, Etcyl Gentry of Milton-Free-water; a sister, Cecil Harp of Pendleton; four grandchild ren: and four great-grandchildren. Sweeney Mortuary, Hep pner, was in charge of ar rangements. be held in lone p.m., at Valby Lutheran Church. Everyone is invited to at tend. A potluck fellowship dinner will be served following the morning service. Teenagers of the church will serve as wai ters, and tips for their services will be given to Central American students to help them attend the Nazarene Seminary at San Jose, Costa Rica, Wilks said. Weddings Morris McCarl Mr. and Mrs. William Sharon Ann McCarl, daughter of Shirley and Morris McCarl of Lexington, became the bride of William Andrew Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs1Charles Morris of Lexington, on December 18. The ceremony was read by thT RevTUoyd Oliver, retired minister of the Brownsville Church, at the Brownsville Christian Church in Brownsville. The Candlelight ceremony was performed in a setting of burgundy flowers accented with mauve. The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, was lovely in a white chapel length gown of schiffi, with embroidered lace featuring a Victorian neckline, accented by matching lace. Her headpiece of the same fabric was accented with a circle of burgundy and mauve roses with lace edging. The bouquet was of the same colors of roses and streamers of mauve satin ribbon accented in white. The maid of honor, Barbara Coiner, a sister of the bride, wore a floor length Victorian style burgundy gown. Bridesmaid Cynthia Sumner of Lexington wore an identical Victorian style gown in mauve. The groom wore a black velvet tuxedo with bow tie, and pink ruffled shirt with burgundy trim. The groomsmen wore gray tuxedos with black velvet trim and bow ties. Ring bearer was Joshua Coiner, nephew of the bride, and flower girl was Kara Morris, niece of the groom. Groomsman was Mike Cheever and ushers were Joe Morris and Lee McCarl, brothers of the bride and groom. Music was provided by the organist, Sharon Smith, and vocalists. Chuck and Laurel Morris, who sang "Sunrise-Sunset." A reception was held following the ceremony. A Three tiered cake adorned with burgundy and mauve roses, topped with cut glass wedding bells, was served, as well as punch and coffee. Serving were Carol Webber, Linda Perez and Jeri McKern aunts of the groom, and Myrtle McMillan, aunt of the bride. In charge of the guest book was Jill Hunt, and Julie Hunt attended the gift table. Both are cousins of the bride. After a trip to the Oregon Coast, the young couple are at home in Salem, the groom is currently a student at Linn Benton Community College, majoring in data processing. Summer employment includes work on the Eielson Fair banks Protection Project, Fairbanks, Alaska. The bride is currently an assistant administrator with the United Methodist Retirement Center. She holds a degree in elementary education. From Lexington attending the wedding were Myrtle McMillan and son, Marion, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Sumner and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hunt. Road Report The Morrow County Public Works Department has re leased the following Work Re port for the week ending Jan uary 15: Roads that were bladed this past week were: N.S. Morgan. Cemetery, Strawberry W., Ely Canyon, Zinter, Stefani, Johnson Grade, E.W. Ella and Morgan East. Fill and base material was bladed onto Fourmile and Palmateer roads. A new culvert was installed on Palmateer Road and a culvert extension on Morgan .East Road. Cold mix patching was done on Brenner Canyon Road, the north end of lone Gooseberry, Upper Rhea Creek and Myers roads. Culverts were cleaned on Nolan Road, Clarks Canyon and E.W. Ella roads.
