The U.S. Department of
Agriculture is proposing to
increase some and lower other
federal grain inspection fees
and will hold a public meeting
to discuss the changes, a
USDA official said recently.
The proposed increases,
from 6 to 28 percent, are for
original inspection, official
weighing and supervision of
weighing services in the Uni
ted States and Canada. The
proposed decrease are for
supervision of truck inspec
tions and protein reinspection.
The public meeting is
scheduled for Oct. 13 from 9 to
11:30 a.m. in room 1072-S of
USDA's South Building,
Washington. D C.
