three and four -year-olds.
Mahoney also was awarded
the Jody Rugg Memorial
Trophy tor being the high
point Morrow Co. Senior girl,
and the High Point Morrow
County Contestant Award.

Court against renaming dam

Last week, complaints were
heard by Morrow County
Court from two Heppner resi
dents as a result of the recent
proposals to rename the Wil
low Creek Dam.
Dick Wilkinson and Randy
Lott, both of Heppner. came
before the court last Wednes
day. June 9. urgently request
ing that the Willow Creek Dam
and lake not be named after
Oscar Peterson or any other
individual.
On June 2. the court receiv
ed a resolution from the Hep
pner Morrow Chamber of
Commerce, recommending
that the dam. lake or both
be named after Peterson.
County Court did not endorse
the resolution but prepared
their own. suggesting the use
of the late county judge's full
name. Oscar Peterson.
According to Dick Wilkin
son, three out of four people
are not in favor of naming the
dam after Peterson.

According to a spokesperson
for county court, the building
inspection service will be-a-private
service, out of the
Planning Department. The
county will receive thirty per
cent of the inspector's fee and
a line item under "Resources"
in the 1982 83 budget is to
cover receipt of fees, the
service's only expense.
In other business, the court
learned that federal funds will
be providing $11,000 toward
the proposed bike path on
Main Street in Boardman. The
total cost of the project has
been estimated at approxi
mately $14,000.
According to Commissioner
